Synopsis

Chu Xuan transmigrated into the Mystic Azure Realm as a demonic cultivator of the Infinite Sect. To cultivate demonic arts is to plunder the essence of the heavens and earth, seize the vitality of all living things, and slaughter countless beings to ascend as the Supreme Demon Lord. However, such slaughter is intolerable under the human race’s heavenly laws. The Infinite Sect was also destroyed by righteous sects.

In utter despair, Chu Xuan accidentally obtained a Blood Mirror that allowed him to access an apocalypse-ridden world teeming with zombies! To his astonishment, he discovered this place was practically a paradise for demonic cultivators.

If he dared to sacrifice a million ordinary humans, the heavenly laws of humanity would unleash thunder and fire to obliterate him. However, if he sacrificed a million zombies, not only would there be no calamities or retribution, but golden blossoms would shower down, celestial light would illuminate the skies, and he would even gain karmic merit!

From then on, he avoided disasters, gained blessings, extended his lifespan, and attracted great fortune! At that moment, Chu Xuan understood: a demonic cultivator is terrifying, but a demonic cultivator endowed with infinite karmic merit is even more so!

Chapter 60: Steal My Yin-Fiend Qi, You Shall Die

Deafening explosions rocked the riverbank as a barrage of attacks slammed into the Two-Headed Python.

Scales shattered. Flesh tore. The massive beast shrieked in agony.

Its earlier provocations had failed completely. It had tried to enrage the Awakened Ones, hoping to lure them into the churning river where it could leverage its aquatic advantage to pick them off one by one. Instead, it was being bled dry.

Thick, dark blood sprayed from its wounds, rapidly dyeing the river surface a murky red.

Every time the python whipped its massive tail down to crush its attackers, the battle-hardened Xiong Xing anticipated the strike. He would hurl an exceptionally sharp, poison-laced iron spear directly into the beast’s path.

These potent, venomous spears forced the Two-Headed Python to abort its attacks and coil its tail defensively.

After minutes of chaotic, brutal combat, the beast was riddled with gashes. Thirty percent of its armor-like scales had been blasted away.

In contrast, the human forces had suffered minimal casualties: only three Linjiang Army soldiers and six Black Vanguard Security Company members lay dead.

Under the relentless, punishing firepower, the Two-Headed Python wailed incessantly. It seemed entirely stripped of its ability to fight back.

If this momentum held, the scales of victory would tip permanently in favor of the Awakened Ones.

A ruthless glint flashed in the eyes of Xiong Xing and Li Tiemu. They were going to butcher this monster and avenge their fallen comrades!

High above, hidden within the drifting clouds, Chu Xuan watched the slaughter.

He stifled a yawn.

Up until this moment, the Two-Headed Python hadn’t displayed a single trait worthy of his attention. Only its base, animal cunning had sparked a flicker of mild interest.

But then, a familiar fluctuation rippled outward from deep within the beast’s massive body.

Is that… Yin-Fiend Qi?

Chu Xuan’s eyes sharpened. His boredom vanished.

Down below, the Two-Headed Python suddenly reared both of its battered heads back. Its jaws unhinged, spewing forth a billowing cloud of purplish-black gas.

The miasma was sinister and freezing cold. As it rolled over the battlefield, it carried the phantom wails of tortured ghosts and howling wolves. Just listening to the shrieking wind was enough to make a man’s soul tremble.

Instinctively sensing the lethal danger, the crowd scattered in a panic.

But a few were too slow. The purplish-black fog swallowed them whole.

When the gas drifted past, all that remained were stiff corpses. Their faces were twisted in masks of absolute terror, their body heat entirely sapped away.

Even a Level 1 Awakened One only managed to endure a few agonizing seconds longer than the ordinary soldiers before collapsing, dead.

Wang Jiangang’s eyelids twitched violently at the sight.

He recognized that gas. It was the exact same deadly miasma he had seen blanketing the area near the Haotai Hotel on the day the Zombie Horde attacked!

“Run! Run now!”

Without a second thought, Wang Jiangang grabbed Wang Yong by the collar and sprinted in the opposite direction.

He remembered that day perfectly. Tens of thousands of Zombies and a massive swarm of Awakened creatures had charged blindly into that fog.

Every single one of them had died!

Compared to that endless sea of Zombies, their small squad was pitifully weak. There was absolutely no way they could survive a direct hit from that purplish-black death.

Tang Jinchuan and Song Dayi didn’t fully understand the panic, but they weren’t stupid enough to stay. They bolted right behind him.

Xiong Xing and Li Tiemu weren’t so lucky. The purplish-black gas washed over them.

However, they were battle-hardened Level 2 Awakened Ones. Furthermore, the Yin-Fiend Qi spewed by the Two-Headed Python was a heavily diluted imitation. Compared to the pure, concentrated death within the Yin-Fiend Soul-Stealing Grand Array, this breath attack contained barely one percent of its true potency.

Even so, the two commanders were plunged into a living nightmare.

It felt as though a horde of invisible, jagged-toothed demons had burrowed into their skulls, frantically tearing their souls and flesh to ribbons.

They were entirely paralyzed, stripped of any ability to resist, forced to watch helplessly as their lives were shredded away.

Then, the agony vanished.

A calm, indifferent voice echoed from the heavens.

“Steal my Yin-Fiend Qi, you shall die.”

The words descended like a majestic, soul-cleansing decree from the gods. In an instant, the phantom wails, the howling wolves, and the terrifying illusions were shattered into absolute nothingness.

Xiong Xing and Li Tiemu gasped for air, their minds snapping back to reality.

They realized their bodies were locked in a rigid paralysis. Several patches of their skin had already turned a necrotic, bluish-black hue.

If that torment had lasted even a few seconds longer, they would be corpses.

Trembling, they looked up at the sky.

There, standing effortlessly upon a hovering flying sword, was a lone figure looking down upon all living beings.

His robes fluttered in the wind. His gaze was cold, distant, and utterly indifferent. He looked exactly like a legendary Daoist Immortal—a being who had severed all mortal tethers, transcending worldly emotions and desires.

Hearing that voice, the fleeing Wang Jiangang, Wang Yong, and the others skidded to a halt. They stared up at the sky in absolute disbelief.

He appeared!

That mysterious Cultivator… he actually appeared!

Tang Jinchuan’s face flushed with excitement. Among everyone present, he was one of the few who had seen Chu Xuan with his own eyes. Unconsciously, he had already become a devout admirer.

This mysterious Cultivator always descended at the most critical, desperate moments!

The Two-Headed Python also locked its gaze onto Chu Xuan.

Its four serpentine eyes swirled with a chaotic mix of bloodlust, brutality, shock, and mounting terror.

It instantly recognized that this human was entirely different from the rest. Since the day it gained sapience and evolved into an Awakened creature, it had never seen a human capable of unassisted flight.

This man was the first!

Worse, its ultimate trump card—the Yin-Fiend Qi—had been neutralized in the blink of an eye. And the human hadn’t even cast a spell. He had simply spoken a single sentence!

The Two-Headed Python’s wariness of Chu Xuan instantly eclipsed every enemy it had ever faced.

Chu Xuan stared back at the beast, his expression placid.

He truly hadn’t expected a mere mutated python to be capable of exhaling Yin-Fiend Qi.

It must have accidentally slithered into the Yin-Fiend Soul-Stealing Grand Array and somehow absorbed the ambient energy. Its physical constitution had to possess some bizarre, unique mutation. Otherwise, the array would have rotted it to the bone long ago.

To not only survive but actually store the Yin-Fiend Qi within its body to use as a trump card… it was a fascinating specimen.

“Hiss!”

Under Chu Xuan’s cold, dissecting gaze, the Two-Headed Python felt a primal chill run down its spine. It let out an irritable, deafening shriek.

Every remaining scale on its massive body stood on end.

Like coiled springs snapping loose, both the left and right snake heads lunged upward, jaws unhinged to swallow Chu Xuan whole!

Chu Xuan didn’t even blink. He simply raised his left hand, summoning the Corpse Nurturing Tower.

“Little Tiger, Little Leopard. I leave them to you,” he said casually.

“Roar!”

Out of thin air, a towering, ten-foot-tall burly figure materialized.

Without a second of hesitation, the undead giant threw a devastating punch directly at the incoming snake head.

Although the summoned figure was massive compared to an ordinary human, in the eyes of Wang Jiangang and the others, it looked as frail as a lamb before the colossal bulk of the Two-Headed Python.

The same thought flashed through everyone’s mind: Throwing a bare-handed punch at a behemoth like that? Isn’t that courting death?

It was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot! An ant trying to shake a mighty tree!

But as every eye on the battlefield locked onto the collision, a sickening BANG echoed through the air.

The ferocious, terrifying snake head didn’t swallow the figure. It exploded.

The sheer kinetic force of the punch blasted the massive skull apart on impact. Eyeballs, jagged teeth, shattered scales, boiling blood, and splintered bone fragments erupted outward like a detonating fragmentation grenade.

The high-velocity shrapnel was no different from a hail of bullets.

It tore through everything in its path.

A few unlucky onlookers who had lingered too close to the riverbank were instantly shredded by the flying limbs and pulverized flesh. The truly cursed ones had their throats, hearts, and major arteries pierced by jagged bone fragments.

They dropped dead on the spot.

The entire battlefield fell dead silent. Eyes bulged in absolute shock.

Even Xiong Xing and Li Tiemu stood frozen, their mouths agape.

They couldn’t comprehend what they had just witnessed. The seemingly invincible Two-Headed Python had just had one of its heads obliterated by a single, bare-handed punch!

This was a realm of power far beyond what any of them could achieve as Awakened Ones.

Even their strongest, Ye Nantian, couldn’t do this!
