Synopsis

Chu Xuan transmigrated into the Mystic Azure Realm as a demonic cultivator of the Infinite Sect. To cultivate demonic arts is to plunder the essence of the heavens and earth, seize the vitality of all living things, and slaughter countless beings to ascend as the Supreme Demon Lord. However, such slaughter is intolerable under the human race’s heavenly laws. The Infinite Sect was also destroyed by righteous sects.

In utter despair, Chu Xuan accidentally obtained a Blood Mirror that allowed him to access an apocalypse-ridden world teeming with zombies! To his astonishment, he discovered this place was practically a paradise for demonic cultivators.

If he dared to sacrifice a million ordinary humans, the heavenly laws of humanity would unleash thunder and fire to obliterate him. However, if he sacrificed a million zombies, not only would there be no calamities or retribution, but golden blossoms would shower down, celestial light would illuminate the skies, and he would even gain karmic merit!

From then on, he avoided disasters, gained blessings, extended his lifespan, and attracted great fortune! At that moment, Chu Xuan understood: a demonic cultivator is terrifying, but a demonic cultivator endowed with infinite karmic merit is even more so!

Chapter 6: Help Me Feed Big Black, It’s Been Hungry for a Long Time

Ten days later.

The Blood Steel Wire finally tore through its cocoon.

Chu Xuan inspected it closely. Following its first metamorphosis, the Gu insect had grown significantly thicker, its crimson carapace gleaming with a hardened, metallic sheen.

He grabbed a heavy iron pipe from the debris and flicked his wrist. The Blood Steel Wire shot out—a blur of violent red—and sheared the pipe in half with zero resistance.

Chu Xuan nodded in appreciation. “Let’s see what innate spell you rolled.”

With a mere thought, he commanded the wire to strike. It lashed out like a crimson viper, instantly coiling around Little Tiger.

The Level 5 Corpse Soldier let out a guttural roar of instinctual rage, its massive muscles bulging as it fought to snap the bindings. But the harder the Zombie struggled, the tighter the bloody glow constricted, biting deep into its dead flesh.

A flash of genuine joy lit up Chu Xuan’s eyes. “Blood Binding Technique!”

A crowd-control spell. It was one of the absolute best Top Grade spells the Blood Steel Wire could unlock at this stage. The wire was never meant to be a DPS powerhouse; it was a utility and defense Gu. He had never expected it to be his main damage dealer.

Now, having unlocked the Blood Binding Technique after its first metamorphosis, it had clearly invested in the right skill tree.

“Alright, alright, release,” Chu Xuan chuckled.

The wire snapped back into his palm in a flash of red light. Little Tiger backed away, whimpering a very un-zombie-like sound of dread, terrified of being trussed up again.

Chu Xuan stroked the wire’s smooth “head,” thoroughly pleased.

“It’s been nearly two months since I dropped onto this planet,” he mused. “My corpse refining materials are tapped out. Time for a supply run back to the Cangxuan Continent.”

He tapped his chin thoughtfully. “I need to refine a few more Yin Corpses to act as base security while I’m gone. More importantly, I need to get my hands on the formation disks and flags for a Blood Transformation Great Array.”

A sharp, predatory glint flashed in his eyes.

The Blood Transformation Great Array. It was the absolute gold standard for Demonic Cultivators looking to run a large-scale blood sacrifice.

Simple. Cheap. Rugged.

Even a lowly Qi Condensation cultivator could operate the base model. The advanced, enhanced, and ultimate versions required actual Formation mastery, but the payoff was absurd.

Rumor had it the Sect Leader of the Corpse Puppet Sect once sacrificed an entire city—300,000 living souls—using the Soul-Seizing Blood Transformation Great Array to forge a single Ten-Thousand Soul Blood Bead.

He fed it to his three-year-old son. The toddler hit Qi Condensation in a day and Foundation Establishment in a hundred. Within three years, the kid was at the ninth layer of Foundation Establishment, casually slapping around the supposed “geniuses” of rival Sects.

Of course, liquidating an entire city was a PR nightmare. The Five Righteous Sects threw a hypocritical fit, ganged up on the Corpse Puppet Sect, and wiped their legacy from the map.

But here? On a planet overrun by billions of mindless, flesh-eating resources?

If Chu Xuan set up a Blood Transformation Great Array here, his cultivation would skyrocket. A hundred days to Foundation Establishment might be a stretch for him, but a year? Easily.

Chu Xuan ordered Little Tiger to clean up the mess on the rooftop of the Xiaorunfa Mall, then summoned the Blood Mirror.

“Time to head back.”

He smiled, feeling a rare surge of satisfaction. When he first fled through the mirror, he was a miserable fourth-layer Qi Condensation cultivator with a single, basic Blood Steel Wire.

Now, in less than two months, he had reached the sixth layer of Qi Condensation, his Gu insect had mutated, and he had a Level 5 Corpse Soldier acting as his personal meat-shield. With this loadout, he could crush any seventh-layer cultivator and had solid odds against an eighth-layer.

Chu Xuan took a deep breath and linked his mind to the Blood Mirror.

In a flash of crimson, he vanished, evaporating from the apocalyptic world.

Donghu City. The Haotai Hotel.

Once a luxury establishment, it now served as the heavily fortified headquarters of the Spirit Dog Gang.

On the penthouse terrace, a lean, dark-skinned man lounged shirtless on a deck chair, soaking in the post-apocalyptic sun. This was Zhao Hong, the gang’s boss.

Two scantily clad women knelt beside him, trembling slightly as they massaged his legs and shoulders. A few yards away sat a massive iron cage. Inside rested a black-backed wolf dog. Even curled up, the beast was over three meters long, packed with more muscle than a prize bull.

A feral light flickered in its eyes, and thick drool dripped from its jaws.

It was hungry.

Kneeling on the concrete beside Zhao Hong’s chair was a burly man named Ling Tao. He was shaking so hard his teeth chattered, terrified to even breathe too loudly.

Zhao Hong lazily rolled over. “Ling Tao. You promised me you’d find out what happened to Tang Hu within half a month. It’s been almost two.”

Ling Tao swallowed hard, his voice cracking. “Boss, Brother Hu vanished at the Xiaorunfa Mall. That zone is a death trap now. There has to be a mutated Zombie nesting there. Two of my best scouts already went missing trying to investigate.”

He crawled forward on his knees, desperately hugging Zhao Hong’s leg, tears streaming down his face. “Boss, it’s not my fault! How could I have known a high-tier Zombie moved in? Only someone as strong as you can handle a monster like that!”

Zhao Hong sat up halfway. He reached out and gently patted Ling Tao’s cheek, offering a warm, forgiving smile. “Shh. It’s not your fault. No one could have known.”

Ling Tao sobbed in relief. “Thank you, Boss! Thank you!”

“Do me a favor, though,” Zhao Hong said casually. “Help me feed Big Black. He’s been hungry for a long time.”

“Yes! Right away!”

Ling Tao scrambled to his feet, grabbed a massive sack of dog food, and hurried toward the cage to fill the bowl.

The giant wolf dog didn’t look at the kibble. It just stared at Ling Tao, drool pooling on the floor.

Zhao Hong snapped his fingers. “Big Black. Eat.”

Awoo!

The beast exploded from the cage. Its jaws clamped down on Ling Tao’s arms.

CRACK.

Bones snapped like dry kindling. Both of Ling Tao’s arms were sheared off at the elbows, blood spraying across the terrace in a violent crimson arc.

“AGHHH! BOSS!”

Ling Tao shrieked, collapsing into a puddle of his own blood, his mind shattering from the sheer agony.

Zhao Hong sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “How many times do I have to tell you? Go straight for the throat. You’re making a mess.”

The wolf dog grunted, lunged forward, and crushed Ling Tao’s windpipe in a single bite. The screaming stopped, replaced by the wet, sickening sounds of tearing flesh as the beast began to feast.

Zhao Hong nodded in satisfaction.

Beside him, a warm puddle spread across the tiles as the two women lost control of their bladders, on the verge of collapsing.

“Relax,” Zhao Hong chuckled, waving a dismissive hand. “You two are all skin and bones. Big Black wouldn’t even get full off you.”

The women’s eyes rolled back, and they fainted dead away.

Zhao Hong reached over and tapped a silver bell on his table.

Ding, ding, ding.

Heavy footsteps echoed from the stairwell. A massive enforcer stepped onto the roof, keeping his eyes firmly glued to the floor, actively ignoring the sound of crunching bone.

“Boss. Your orders?”

Zhao Hong leaned back in his chair. “Grab Big Yellow and Second Yellow. Prep the car. We’re taking a trip to the Xiaorunfa Mall.”

“Right away, Boss.”

Minutes later, the heavy reinforced doors of the Haotai Hotel ground open. A heavily modified Wuling minivan roared out into the ruined streets, leaving a trail of dust in its wake.

Welded steel mesh covered the windows, and jagged iron spikes jutted from the grill and roof like a mechanical porcupine. Any ordinary Zombie stupid enough to wander into its path would be instantly pureed.

As long as it didn’t drive straight into a horde of thousands, it was the undisputed king of the apocalyptic road.
