Heaven and Earth Dao Rhyme belongs to a category of the laws of heaven and earth. They permeate the space between heaven and earth, hidden beyond the three realms. Theoretically speaking, Heaven and Earth Dao Rhyme is inexhaustible. However, it cannot be used directly; it can only be utilized by crafting it into talismans using special materials.
Due to the vast variety of Heaven and Earth Dao Rhymes, the effects of talismans also vary greatly. They can roughly be divided into three types: auxiliary, offensive, and special.
Auxiliary talismans include those like the Swift Movement Talisman, the Breath Concealment Talisman, and the Spirit Gathering Talisman. Offensive talismans are those that can be used against enemies without needing to mobilize spiritual energy, such as Lightning Attraction Talismans and Fire Dragon Talismans.
As for special talismans, they are more complex and extremely rare, such as some that increase the success rate of bonding with a magic treasure or accelerate the growth of spiritual plants.
Beyond these distinctions, talismans also have strict grade divisions: first to ninth grade. Each grade represents a qualitative leap. Similarly, the materials required and the demands on the talisman master vary greatly. The most crucial requirement is divine sense.
Ordinary talisman masters can at most craft third-grade talismans. Beyond that, powerful divine sense becomes necessary. After the sixth grade, exclusive Divine Attraction Dao Rhyme is required. This is an extremely complex system.
Undoubtedly, with each grade increase, the talisman’s effect becomes stronger. However, the most popular talismans have always been the low-grade ones. Because the higher the grade, the more precious the materials and the greater the demands on the master. For most cultivators, affordable low-grade talismans are more practical.
Of course, one cannot rule out poverty as a factor…
Gu Xiu’s goal was to earn spirit stones and resources. He wasn’t rushing to craft high-grade talismans. What he crafted were uniformly first-grade talismans.
These were the easiest to sell because their price wasn’t exorbitant; even cash-strapped rogue cultivators could afford them. Most importantly, they required the least time to craft.
Leveraging the Myriad Rhymes Paying Homage triggered by the Nameless Ancient Tome, Gu Xiu worked like an emotionless overseer.
Large quantities of first-grade talismans were rapidly produced. Three hundred talismans per batch. It took only two hours in total.
Eight thousand talismans. Completed!
Even more astonishingly, after completing eight thousand talismans, Gu Xiu felt only slightly fatigued!
It should be noted that crafting eight thousand talismans would cause significant exhaustion even for a talisman master like Qin Moran, not to mention the vast amount of time she would need.
However, Gu Xiu didn’t gloat over his speed. Instead, he frowned. “Does my talisman crafting cause such a commotion?”
Only now did he realize he had actually triggered Myriad Rhymes Paying Homage. The first time was when comprehending the Heavenly Book Talisman. The second time was during his focused crafting session; he hadn’t noticed until now that such a spectacle was happening externally.
“Withdraw!”
Without hesitation, Gu Xiu uttered a low command.
Instantly, all traces of the Heaven and Earth Dao Rhyme vanished. For some reason, Gu Xiu could even sense that these active Dao Rhymes seemed somewhat reluctant to leave…
“Legends say those recognized by Heaven and Earth Dao Rhyme can theoretically receive Myriad Rhymes Paying Homage. Although the Heavenly Book Talisman is powerful, it shouldn’t be capable of triggering such homage… Why did this happen?” Gu Xiu murmured, feeling puzzled.
However, dwelling on this question was pointless. Gu Xiu was more concerned about something else now.
“Let me test how effective my crafted talismans are!”
As he spoke to himself, Gu Xiu picked up a Spirit Gathering Talisman. As its name suggests, it gathers spiritual energy rapidly to enhance cultivation. Its function is similar to a Spirit Gathering Array, but it consumes less while still providing decent effects. Most importantly, this talisman can stack with a Spirit Gathering Array to amplify results!
Gu Xiu immediately activated the Spirit Gathering Talisman in his hand.
The first-grade talisman instantly ignited mid-air. Immediately after, a massive amount of spiritual energy surged toward Gu Xiu so rapidly that a faint vortex formed before him, swiftly absorbing even the spiritual energy already enhanced by his Spirit Gathering Array!
Witnessing this made Gu Xiu’s eyelids twitch slightly. “Airflow like a dipper measure; spiritual energy forming a vortex… Shouldn’t that be an effect of at least a second-grade Spirit Gathering Talisman?”
He picked up another talisman and examined it carefully.
Gu Xiu was certain. This was indeed a first-grade Spirit Gathering Talisman—both in materials and inscriptional flow.
If there was anything unusual about it… it would be that the inscription traced onto the paper was exceptionally lively and elegant—perfectly natural, as if born from heaven itself.
After all, these inscriptions weren’t manually drawn by Gu Xiu but were autonomously traced by Heaven and Earth Dao Rhyme itself—something ordinary people copying superficially could never fully replicate!
“I’ve heard that when crafting talismans in certain states akin to entering enlightenment, the crafted talismans’ effects surpass their current grade level; such talismans can be called ‘Dao Talismans’!”
“Then could my talismans be called Perfect Dao Talismans?”
Gu Xiu tested two other types of talismans. As expected: all his crafted talismans reached Dao Talisman level—not just ordinary ones either; their power actually surpassed standard Dao Talismans!
Perfect Dao Talismans!
This was no joke! This discovery made Gu Xiu’s eyes shine brightly.
His purpose was earning spirit stones and resources. His speed already surpassed all other masters. Now each piece rivaled Perfect Dao Talismans… This meant both quality AND quantity!
However, amidst his joy came another frown.
His path in crafting was formidable, but the spectacle of Myriad Rhymes Paying Homage was too grand! Such commotion would inevitably attract attention from other masters within the city. If large batches of Perfect Dao Talismans appeared on the market now… it might draw unwanted attention, which wasn’t what he wanted as a rogue cultivator aware of the risks.
Previously showing value appropriately before Su Rumei aimed at a relatively equal exchange… but if this value proved too shocking, it might backfire.
Yet… he couldn’t just let all these valuable items rot unsold just to maintain a low profile.
“If absolutely necessary, then release batches gradually…”
“If still not feasible… then wait until obtaining the opportunity within Yunxiao City, then leave swiftly afterward!”
After pondering awhile, he decided: The fame associated with Myriad Rhymes Paying Homage was too loud; he was unwilling to bear the burden. But having valuable items and being afraid to sell them, leading to a frugal living, was also undesirable.
Therefore, sell he must—just maintain a low profile and minimize the association between himself and the phenomenon as much as possible!
“Enough useless thinking. Better look forward to what the Green Bamboo Rod brings this time…”
Shaking his head, he refocused his thoughts and retrieved the Green Bamboo Rod.
Ten days had passed since he fished out the Seven Stars Pendant. Compared to selling spirit stones, the ability to fish across the heavens was far more important.
Gently stroking the spirit thread attached to the rod, he hesitated no longer and cast the line immediately!
Almost instantly after casting, the other end sank abruptly. A heavy weight was felt immediately through the thread connection.
So fast???
Gu Xiu was somewhat bewildered. Last time the Seven Stars Pendant hooked quickly, but this time seemed even faster.
More importantly, this time he could even sense the object on the other side seemed eager, impatiently wanting to get hooked and pulled over toward him.
An involuntary thought arose within his mind.
This time… Could it possibly involve Jiang Xun’s opportunity again???
Holding the thought, he pulled upward firmly.
Upon seeing clearly what was hooked onto the end of the line—Gu Xiu’s expression instantly turned stunned.
