Chapter 251: Bring It Out and Ram That Old Hag to Death
Despite her venomous threats, Nangong Yao remained firmly trapped within Li Fuxi’s water-curtain sword encirclement, unable to break free.
Seizing the moment, Li Fuxi called out, “Yinyin, go help clear the puppets below. Stabilize the situation!”
“You got it, Master! You just have fun playing with that ugly woman and her ruined face!” Lin Yinyin replied cheerfully, diving her flying boat toward the ground.
“Ruined… ruined face? Ugly woman?”
A vein throbbed violently on Nangong Yao’s forehead.
Though she was single-mindedly devoted to the Dao, she had always been incredibly vain. Even now, eroded by [Hatred] and bearing eerie markings on her skin, she refused to associate herself with the word “ugly.”
Lin Yinyin’s insult was like rubbing salt into a raw wound. Seeing the girl’s youthful, vibrant beauty contrasted against her own bizarre, half-human, half-puppet form caused the hatred and jealousy in Nangong Yao’s heart to detonate.
She launched a frenzied assault, but Li Fuxi had shifted completely to defense. The [Boundless Vast Sea] sword intent cycled endlessly, a watertight fortress that Nangong Yao couldn’t hope to breach in a short time.
Then, a scene unfolded that nearly made Nangong Yao vomit blood.
Lin Yinyin leaped off the deck of her ship. Water-blue sword light danced across the sky like a ribbon. Wherever she passed, the Flesh and Blood Puppets froze instantly, turning into statues of ice.
Overhead, the Custom Flying Boat hummed with mechanical precision. Its automated turrets swiveled, locking onto the frozen targets.
Thump-thump-thump.
Small-caliber spiritual energy shells rained down, shattering the ice sculptures into a sky full of sparkling, bloody debris.
The efficiency was clinical. The terrifying puppet army was being liquidated like stains on a floor.
While effortlessly clearing the field, Lin Yinyin kept her mouth running.
“Master! Where is your flying boat? didn’t Brother give you one too? Bring it out and ram this old hag to death!”
“Old… old hag?” Nangong Yao felt her sanity fraying at the edges.
Hearing this, a rare flush of embarrassment and guilt colored Li Fuxi’s exquisitely beautiful face. She parried a strike and whispered, “I… I haven’t quite figured out those complex attack formations yet.”
She had been too busy perfecting her sword path—and soaking in hot springs—to read the user manual.
Lin Yinyin slapped her forehead, sighing dramatically. “Ah, Master, you’re so clumsy! Even if you can’t use the guns, don’t say it out loud! Just hover it there as a strategic deterrent! Scaring her would be enough! You really are all chest and no brains.”
The battle raged on, but the tide had turned irrevocably.
High in the sky, Li Fuxi steadily suppressed a mentally unraveling Nangong Yao. On the ground, Lin Yinyin swept through the puppet army with terrifying efficiency. The pressure on Wang Ya, Zhiyin, and the others evaporated, allowing them to organize a counterattack.
Nangong Yao ground her teeth, hatred consuming her. She knew this surprise attack had failed completely. All her frustration and rage coalesced into a singular, venomous loathing for Li Fuxi and Lin Yinyin.
“It’s all because of these two women! And Zhang Xian!!”
She screamed, cleaving through Li Fuxi’s water curtain with a desperate strike. Borrowing the recoil force, she retreated rapidly, disengaging from the fight.
Li Fuxi did not pursue. She stood quietly with her sword, watching with a cool expression. Both sides knew that stopping a late-stage Nascent Soul cultivator determined to flee was nearly impossible.
Nangong Yao hovered in the distance. Her gaze swept over the devastated mountain gate of the Yunmiao Sect, finally locking onto Li Fuxi and Lin Yinyin.
“You got lucky this time,” she hissed, the words dripping with ice. “Once This Seat pacifies the Central Continent and consolidates my power, I will return. When that day comes, I will ensure not even the chickens and dogs of the Yunmiao Sect remain! I will refine every last one of you into my puppets!”
With that, she turned into a mournful streak of purple-black light, vanishing over the horizon in an instant.
The strong enemy had retreated, but the mood within the Yunmiao Sect was grim.
The battlefield was a ruin. The majestic structures of the mountain gate were reduced to rubble. The second layer of the protective formation flickered dimly, on the verge of collapse. Many disciples had Perished, and several Head Seats and Inspectors had fallen in battle. The wounded were beyond count.
Wang Ya’s expression was incomparably grave. Gazing in the direction Nangong Yao had vanished, he spoke solemnly.
“If my guess is correct, Nangong Yao is no longer a simple cultivator. I fear she has become the source of [Hatred]. But… how was she able to bypass the Central Continent and strike us so suddenly?”
Although Li Fuxi had successfully repelled the enemy and saved the sect, there was no joy on her face.
She lowered her head, gently stroking the warm [Mandarin Duck Winged Jade Pendant] hidden in her robes. The distance was too great; the jade’s light was dim, unable to convey her feelings to its twin.
An intense wave of longing and worry washed over her.
Zhang Xian… has the situation in the Central Continent deteriorated to this extent? Where are you now? Are you safe?
She raised her head, looking toward the north, her beautiful eyes filled with unshakeable worry.
She missed him.
Southern Region. Above a continuous stretch of misty, spiritual mountains.
A duel of titans, far beyond the imagination of ordinary cultivators, was underway.
The auras of both combatants were restrained to the extreme, preventing wanton destruction of the landscape. Yet, if a Great Cultivator were present, they would sense the laws of heaven and earth twisting and screaming within a hundred-mile radius.
Half-step Soul Formation cultivators touched the very fabric of reality. Their battle was no longer a collision of spiritual energy, but a contest for the authority of the world itself.
On one side stood Su Yunmiao, dressed in teal robes, her hair white as snow. She was enveloped in shimmering azure light—the manifestation of the purest Water Essence. It seemed that with a single thought, she could summon the Milky Way from the Ninth Heaven to drown the world.
Opposite her stood Grandmaster Taichu. He wore simple Daoist robes, his long hair parted in the middle. He radiated a golden glow, his aura sharp enough to pierce the firmament.
Every clash caused the winds and clouds to change color.
Evenly matched.
At least on the surface, they fought in a deadlock, neither able to gain the upper hand.
However, after a particularly violent collision of Dao principles, Su Yunmiao’s delicate body trembled. She keenly sensed something within her—something she had suppressed and sealed with her own Dao—produce a subtle, pulling tremor.
She stopped abruptly, the flowing azure light around her pausing. A flash of surprise and suspicion crossed her eyes as she looked at Grandmaster Taichu.
“You… you have also suppressed one of the Seven Emotions?”
The golden aura around Grandmaster Taichu receded slightly. His expression remained flat.
“Correct. Like you, This Seat uses my body as a prison to suppress one of the Seven Emotions Evil Thoughts: [Greed].”
He smoothed his robes. “The Seven Emotions share the same origin, all separated from that Supreme Existence during the Severing of the Dao. It is not strange that there is a subtle resonance between them.”
Hearing this, deep confusion and gravity marred Su Yunmiao’s exquisite face.
“Since you know the calamity of the Seven Emotions and are willing to personally suppress one, you must understand that the Great Tribulation has arrived. We should cast aside sect barriers, unite as fellow Daoists, and resist the crisis together!”
Her eyes narrowed.
“Why, instead, do you deliberately scheme against my Yunmiao Sect? Why did you condone [Hatred] invading my mountain gate?”
