Synopsis

“Don’t look at the Red Moon. Don’t answer the shadows. And never trust the dead.”
The year is 2030. The laws of physics have shattered. Shanghai has fallen. The world has become a playground for Anomalies—unkillable entities governed by twisted rules.
Chen Ye is a survivor in a desperate convoy, fleeing the forbidden zones. He has no food, no fuel, and his only transport is a rusty, old-fashioned bicycle.
But he has a secret. He awakened a System. Not a combat skill, not a magic spell, but the ability to Upgrade matter.
Rusty Bicycle + Slaughter Points = All-Terrain Armored Trike.
Broken Crossbow + Slaughter Points = Ghost-Slaying Ballista.
A simple blanket + Slaughter Points = Adaptive Camouflage Cloak.
In a world where traditional weapons fail, Chen Ye will build his way to survival. While others pray for salvation, he is busy turning his ride into a mobile fortress.
What to expect:
Item Upgrade System: Strong gear progression.
Vehicle Building: Bike -> Trike -> ??? (Mobile Fortress).
Eldritch Horror: Fighting monsters that defy logic (SCP/Lovecraftian vibes).
Ruthless MC: Pragmatic survivalist. No harem, no whining.
Kingdom/Convoy Building: Eventually leading a team.

Chapter 145: True Second Sequence

[Option Two: Locate a suitable surgeon. Surgically remove your left eye. Implant the Eyeball of the Abyssal Blood Eye.]

[Post-surgery, you must manually adapt the eye using the ‘Blood Moon Breathing Technique’ to adjust your resonance frequency and stimulate integration with your Sequence energy.]

[If you require the detailed instruction manual for Option Two, please pay 1,000 Slaughter Points.]

Chen Ye stared at the interface.

“…”

Damn it.

The System is a pay-to-win cliffhanger artist. Who programmed this thing?

Gritting his teeth, Chen Ye paid the 1,000 points.

The information flooded his mind.

In short: Find a doctor. Gouge out the failing eye. Shove in the cursed Anomaly eye. Pray.

Under normal circumstances, performing eye surgery in a dirty, freezing classroom was suicide. Infection alone would kill him.

But Chen Ye was a Sequence Beyonder. His constitution was superhuman. He could survive the trauma.

The surgery was just the first step. The real challenge was the integration—using his energy to force the alien organ to sync with his body.

The pros and cons were clear.

Option One (500,000 points) was the VIP package. Instant installation, zero risk, immediate combat readiness. It would upgrade the eye into a symbiotic Artifact, making him a dual-pathway powerhouse—a Mechanic Sequence (fake) and an Artifact Symbiont (real). This was the “True Second Sequence.”

Option Two was the budget plan. It saved points but cost pain and time. Even if successful, he would only unlock a fraction of the eye’s power initially. He would have to grind for mastery.

However, the end result was the same. Once fully integrated, the eye would become an Artifact anyway.

Chen Ye had no choice. He didn’t have 500,000 points. He couldn’t even get a loan from the System because he still owed it from previous debts.

Artifact Symbiosis.

Chu Che had lectured him on this. The Symbiosis Sequence had two branches: Anomaly Symbiosis and Artifact Symbiosis.

Anomaly Symbiosis was dangerous. Like the old man in the Elderly Mobility Scooter bonded with the Hunchback Thrall. It was a tug-of-war for control. Either you mastered the monster, or the monster wore you like a suit. It was the most unpredictable path.

Artifact Symbiosis was safer but required rare resources. You bonded with a high-ranking item.

Some items were Natural Artifacts—born, not made. They had infinite potential to evolve.

Chen Ye suspected Nana’s sword was one of these. A weapon that could summon a fire dragon wasn’t just a sharp piece of metal; it was alive.

And now, Chen Ye held the key to his own evolution.

The problem was the surgery.

Finding a doctor was easy. Xu Lina had mentioned a former chief surgeon among the cultists.

But trusting a stranger with a scalpel near his brain? In the apocalypse?

Especially a cultist loyal to Wu Jianshan?

If he slips, I’m dead. I’m not a Titan Sequence. I don’t have a backup head.

And there was no anesthesia. Even if there was, Chen Ye wouldn’t dare use it. He needed to be awake to react if things went south.

He hesitated.

That night, he went to the roof to cultivate.

His Slaughter Points had dwindled to 20,000, but the investment was paying off. He was on the verge of breaking through to Sequence 2.

Ding Dong was there, as always. They trained in silence, separated by the falling snow, united by discipline.

Over the next few days, the Death God Church swallowed the school.

Iron Lion, Sun Qianqian, and Ding Dong officially joined. The process was smooth—too smooth. Without Chen Ye and Chu Che interfering, the trio were easy converts. They were even appointed as Vice Bishops.

“Three days,” Sun Qianqian announced excitedly, finding Chen Ye and Chu Che in the hallway. “My cousin-uncle is holding a Grand Ritual in the auditorium.”

“Didn’t you guys get the invite?”

“No,” Chen Ye and Chu Che said in unison. They exchanged a look of wary unease.

“You should join!” Sun Qianqian urged. “Uncle said he’s going to distribute Death God’s Holy Water. It makes you immune to the cold! You’ll be Vice Bishops too!”

“Besides,” she added, eyeing them suspiciously, “you both promised to join. You’re not going back on your word, are you?”

Both men had indeed used that promise as leverage to scam Wu Jianshan.

“Qianqian,” Chen Ye said smoothly. “It’s a big decision. Let us think about it, okay?”

Once Sun Qianqian left, the facade dropped.

They didn’t speak. They just walked away in opposite directions.

They both knew: Wu Jianshan was making his move.

Whatever this “Grand Ritual” was, it wasn’t going to end well for the non-believers.

Chen Ye went straight to the survivor classrooms.

Despite the siege of monsters outside, the mood inside was festive. The promise of “Holy Water” and immunity to the cold had seduced the refugees. They were eager to convert.

Chen Ye found Xu Lina.

She lit up when she saw him. She had dressed up for the occasion, wearing a tight sweater that accentuated her curves. She was betting everything on Chen Ye’s protection.

“Chen Ye,” she purred. “You were looking for me?”

Chen Ye ignored the charm offensive. His eyes were cold and focused.

“The doctor in the Church,” he said abruptly. “Does he have family here?”
