Synopsis

“Don’t look at the Red Moon. Don’t answer the shadows. And never trust the dead.”
The year is 2030. The laws of physics have shattered. Shanghai has fallen. The world has become a playground for Anomalies—unkillable entities governed by twisted rules.
Chen Ye is a survivor in a desperate convoy, fleeing the forbidden zones. He has no food, no fuel, and his only transport is a rusty, old-fashioned bicycle.
But he has a secret. He awakened a System. Not a combat skill, not a magic spell, but the ability to Upgrade matter.
Rusty Bicycle + Slaughter Points = All-Terrain Armored Trike.
Broken Crossbow + Slaughter Points = Ghost-Slaying Ballista.
A simple blanket + Slaughter Points = Adaptive Camouflage Cloak.
In a world where traditional weapons fail, Chen Ye will build his way to survival. While others pray for salvation, he is busy turning his ride into a mobile fortress.
What to expect:
Item Upgrade System: Strong gear progression.
Vehicle Building: Bike -> Trike -> ??? (Mobile Fortress).
Eldritch Horror: Fighting monsters that defy logic (SCP/Lovecraftian vibes).
Ruthless MC: Pragmatic survivalist. No harem, no whining.
Kingdom/Convoy Building: Eventually leading a team.

Chapter 141: Replacing the Left Eye with the Blood Pupil

By the time Chen Ye and Chu Che snapped out of their guilt-induced stupor, the battle had reached a fever pitch.

The Abyssal Blood Eye was trying to flee. The massive eyeball was filled with a very human emotion: terror.

The Death God, wielding his blood-red scythe, moved in a blur of afterimages, pursuing the retreating Anomaly.

“Wu Jianshan! Stop!”

The old man’s face on the Eight-Limbed Human Face roared in anger. Its tentacles stretched infinitely, trying to intercept the scythe.

Countless white Crawlers threw themselves into the path of the blade, sacrificing their lives in a desperate bid to block the strike.

But it was too late.

The blood-red blade flashed.

A gash appeared on the surface of the giant eye.

The massive sphere froze in mid-air. Instantly, it seemed to lose all its power.

Countless smaller eyes struggled out of the wound like freed birds, scattering into the wind.

The Abyssal Blood Eye deflated like a popped balloon. Under the gaze of the crowd, the three-meter monstrosity shrank rapidly, finally condensing into a single, normal-sized eyeball that fell to the snowy ground.

Thud.

Looking at that eye, Chen Ye felt a chill in his heart.

It wasn’t fear. It was the instinctive reaction to a Sequence Artifact of immense value.

He didn’t need an [Appraisal] to know this was precious—far more valuable than the Flayed Ghost’s scalp.

Can I use this? Chen Ye wondered. My left eye is failing. Can I replace it with this?

Pah. What am I thinking? Who shoves an Anomaly into their eye socket?

But the thought lingered. As his power grew, his vision deteriorated. The temptation was strong.

Before Chen Ye could activate his System, a hand snatched the eye from the snow.

It was Wu Jianshan.

Damn… Chen Ye cursed internally. That kid’s hands are fast.

In that instant, Chen Ye’s mind cycled through a dozen plans to steal the eye from his “brother.” Each plan was more shameless and black-hearted than the last.

The Abyssal Blood Eye was dead.

Silence fell over the playground.

The Eight-Limbed Human Face retracted its tentacles, turned, and fled into the darkness. The remaining Crawlers scattered like wild dogs before a tiger.

Under the tree, the Snow Woman took a long, deep look at the Death God, then turned and walked away, followed by her white army.

The other lurking horrors in the shadows faded away.

“Captain Chu,” Chen Ye whispered, his eyes locked on Wu Jianshan’s pocket. “Do you think they’ll come back?”

He wanted that eye. He needed it.

Chen Ye had a hunch that advancing to Sequence 2 would boost his power but worsen his blindness. Eventually, he would lose his sight completely.

The System had confirmed this grim probability: over 90%.

Restoring his original eye would cost an astronomical amount of Slaughter Points. But this Artifact…

Chen Ye quietly asked the System: Is a transplant feasible?

[System: Feasible.]

Chen Ye’s heart hammered against his ribs.

On the surface, he was calm. Inside, he was screaming.

That eye is mine. Even if I have to draw my blade against my best brother.

“They will,” Chu Che replied gravely, unaware of Chen Ye’s internal monologue. “This isn’t over.”

Just then, a sinister voice drifted into their ears.

“Heh heh… are you two done posturing?”

Chen Ye and Chu Che froze.

“You didn’t think we heard what you said earlier, did you?”

It was Sun Qianqian.

“I was wondering who started those rumors in the convoy. I thought it was that bastard Chen Ye. But Captain Chu… who knew you were such a gossip?”

The two men turned slowly.

Sun Qianqian stood there, her face a mask of pure fury. Beside her, even the stoic Ding Dong looked ready to kill.

“And you, Chen Ye,” Sun Qianqian hissed. “Stop flattering yourself. Let me say it again: I played YOU!”

“I don’t need a man to survive! You think you’re important? Bullshit! I’m the heartbreaker here!”

ROAR!

A fiery dragon erupted from the sword at her waist, its massive head hovering inches from Chen Ye and Chu Che.

It was her ultimate move. She was using her trump card on them.

Even Ding Dong was radiating murderous intent. No woman likes being called ugly, especially not by the man she respects. And Chu Che had confessed to saying exactly that.

“Run!”

Chen Ye turned to flee, but he felt a shove from behind. Chu Che had pushed him!

Chen Ye stumbled and fell. He glared at the Captain. Traitor!

Chu Che tried to run, but a willow branch shot out from Ding Dong’s sleeve and wrapped around his ankle. He face-planted into the snow.

Chen Ye glared at him. Karma!

“Iron Lion! Help!” Chen Ye screamed.

“You… you guys stop fighting!” Iron Lion stammered, stepping between the angry women and the cowering men.

“Iron Lion, are you an idiot?” Chen Ye yelled. “They insulted you! Why are you helping them?”

“Hehe…” Iron Lion scratched his head. “I… I think they’re right. Telling the truth isn’t wrong!”

“You… you really are getting dumber!”

The Titan Sequence demanded a price: intelligence. The higher the rank, the simpler the mind. Some called it a “Childlike Heart.” Chen Ye called it brain damage.

The battle left a deep impression on everyone.

Especially the Death God’s instant annihilation of the Blood Eye.

Chen Ye had been skeptical of Wu Jianshan’s power. Now, he was wary.

He had sent Xu Lina, the convoy’s social butterfly, to gather intel from the cultists.

Xu Lina, thriving in the cult thanks to her beauty and charm, had easily extracted information from her admirers—two of whom were Vice Bishops.

She brought the intel to Chen Ye, hoping for praise. Chen Ye just dismissed her.

The intel confirmed his theory: The Blood Eye specialized in pupil techniques. It had failed because the Death God kept his eyes closed, nullifying its main attacks.

It was a hard counter.

But what truly terrified Chen Ye was Wu Jianshan’s final move.

That gaze. That sudden, overwhelming wave of guilt and repentance.

It was a terrifying form of crowd control.

But something felt off.

Wu Jianshan opened his eyes, and we all started crying, Chen Ye thought. But… that power feels too strong for him.

It feels like an ability that belongs to the Death God, not the Bishop.
