Synopsis

“Don’t look at the Red Moon. Don’t answer the shadows. And never trust the dead.”
The year is 2030. The laws of physics have shattered. Shanghai has fallen. The world has become a playground for Anomalies—unkillable entities governed by twisted rules.
Chen Ye is a survivor in a desperate convoy, fleeing the forbidden zones. He has no food, no fuel, and his only transport is a rusty, old-fashioned bicycle.
But he has a secret. He awakened a System. Not a combat skill, not a magic spell, but the ability to Upgrade matter.
Rusty Bicycle + Slaughter Points = All-Terrain Armored Trike.
Broken Crossbow + Slaughter Points = Ghost-Slaying Ballista.
A simple blanket + Slaughter Points = Adaptive Camouflage Cloak.
In a world where traditional weapons fail, Chen Ye will build his way to survival. While others pray for salvation, he is busy turning his ride into a mobile fortress.
What to expect:
Item Upgrade System: Strong gear progression.
Vehicle Building: Bike -> Trike -> ??? (Mobile Fortress).
Eldritch Horror: Fighting monsters that defy logic (SCP/Lovecraftian vibes).
Ruthless MC: Pragmatic survivalist. No harem, no whining.
Kingdom/Convoy Building: Eventually leading a team.

Chapter 140: Chen Ye and Chu Che: We Really Aren’t Human!

Chen Ye watched the battle in the playground without blinking.

On one side, a massive, floating eyeball. On the other, a woman over three meters tall, radiating an aura of absolute death.

His phone was steady in his hand. He was recording every second. A clash between Anomalies of this caliber might not happen again for a decade. He needed the data.

“Captain Chu,” Chen Ye whispered. “Who do you think will win?”

Chu Che shook his head. “Hard to say. But this is just a probe. Neither Wu Jianshan nor the Anomalies will go all out. They’ll control the scope.”

“However,” Chu Che added, his face grim, “after this, the real war begins. We need to be ready.”

Chen Ye nodded, his eyes fixed on the screen.

He agreed. Regardless of the outcome, their time here was up. The Anomalies wouldn’t give up on the scent of over a hundred living souls.

And Wu Jianshan… the “good brother” had clearly walked down a dark path. If they stayed, they would end up as food, just as the Eight-Limbed Human Face had predicted.

I’m not going to be eaten, Chen Ye thought. So I have to leave.

The battle intensified.

The Abyssal Blood Eye possessed a terrifying form of mind control. It seized the Crawlers, turning the mindless beasts into a suicidal army that charged the Death God.

Even the survivors and cultists felt the pull. Their minds were clear, but their limbs twitched, urging them to run into the slaughter. Only the Sequence Beyonders were strong enough to resist, quickly restraining the civilians.

But the horde meant nothing to the Death God.

Wu Jianshan stood behind her, chanting the Scripture of the Dead. He didn’t lift a finger.

The Death God ripped a basketball hoop from the concrete as if it were a twig. With a single, elegant sweep, she swatted away dozens of Crawlers. She didn’t even take a step.

Chen Ye had a sudden realization.

She doesn’t look like a god. She looks like a bodyguard.

Wu Jianshan creates the church, feeds her faith, and she protects him. This God-Worshipping Sequence… it’s a transaction.

The Blood Eye flared, glowing a brighter, angrier red.

A wave of searing heat washed over the playground, igniting the snowflakes in mid-air.

The Death God flickered, dodging with supernatural speed.

BOOM.

Where she had been standing a millisecond before, a ball of orange fire erupted from thin air.

The basketball hoop caught the edge of the flame. It melted instantly, dripping molten steel onto the snow, sizzling and hissing.

Even from fifty meters away, Chen Ye felt the heat singe his eyebrows.

He panicked. “Back up! Back up!”

He threw the Doomsday Pickup into reverse, retreating all the way to the school’s perimeter wall. Iron Lion and Boss Gao followed suit.

Zhou Xiaoxiao tried to save her car, but she was too slow.

A spark caught the hood. In seconds, the vehicle that had carried the sisters for months was reduced to a pile of slag. Zhou Xiaoxiao stood there, stunned.

The battle raged on.

The Death God discarded the melted hoop. In her hand, the blood-red scythe materialized.

The Blood Eye’s pupil vibrated. Several survivors screamed as their own eyes ripped free from their sockets, flying toward the monster.

These stolen eyes hovered around the battlefield, becoming floating cameras for the entity.

The Death God lunged.

Pop. Pop. Pop.

As she approached the floating eyes, they detonated.

The blasts were powerful enough to flip nearby cars, cratering the playground.

Chen Ye went pale. If we were fighting that thing, we’d be dead already.

The Blood Eye unleashed wave after wave of psychic attacks and pyrokinesis, but the Death God seemed immune. Her eyes remained closed, her defense impenetrable.

She was fast, strong, and terrifyingly durable. Especially that scythe—the Blood Eye seemed terrified of it, retreating every time she swung.

After ten minutes, the Blood Eye realized it couldn’t win. It prepared to flee.

“Abyssal Blood Eye!” Wu Jianshan suddenly shouted. “Look at me! How are my eyes?”

Instinctively, the giant eye swiveled toward him.

And in that moment, Wu Jianshan opened his eyes.

Two lines of bloody tears rolled down his cheeks.

His gaze was filled with infinite compassion. He looked like a Buddha, weeping for the sins of the world.

Even from a distance, Chen Ye saw those eyes.

And suddenly, he felt like the worst person in the world.

The tiny, shriveled kernel of kindness in his heart exploded, magnified a thousand times. Every bad deed he had ever committed crashed down on him like an avalanche.

I didn’t save Zhou Lan’s sister. I left her to die.

I used that old woman as a human shield in Longevity Village.

Why am I so evil? I’m not a human. I’m trash.

He didn’t want to fight. He didn’t want to run. He just wanted to kneel and apologize.

“Captain Chu!” Chen Ye wailed, tears streaming down his face.

“Captain Chu, I’m sorry! Wu Jianshan gave me ten bottles of Blood Tears, but I told you four! I lied to you! I’m garbage!”

“And Iron Lion… I always call you stupid. You can’t help it! I’m a bully!”

“Qianqian… I’m just lusting after your body! I’m a scumbag! I deserve to die! Waaaaah!”

He sobbed uncontrollably, confessing his sins to the empty air.

If this were a real fight, he would have been dead in three seconds.

He turned to look at Chu Che.

The Captain was in even worse shape. Snot was running down his chin, mixing with his tears.

“It’s okay, Yezi!” Chu Che blubbered. “I’m sorry too! I use the Eavesdropping Radio to listen to your secrets every night! I’m a voyeur! I’m not human!”

“Ding Dong… I know you’re ugly, but I never looked down on you!”

“Qianqian… I told everyone in the convoy about you and Chen Ye! I’m a gossip! I’m sorry!”

“And Iron Lion… I shouldn’t have said you have a dog’s brain! That’s an insult to dogs! I’m sorry!”

The two men held each other, weeping like children.

Meanwhile, the others watched in horror.

Iron Lion and Ding Dong were unaffected—perhaps because they hadn’t done enough evil to feel guilty.

But Sun Qianqian’s face was dark. Her veins bulged.

Ding Dong looked like she wanted to murder someone.

Iron Lion scratched his head. “Hehe… it’s okay, guys. I am stupid. Don’t cry. I’m fine!”
