Chapter 221: Legacy Disciple Situ, Please Behave Yourself, I Am Not That Kind of Person

Realizing that Ji Chan’er was literally on her way, Qi Yuan hurriedly stuffed the communication talisman away. He immediately dispelled the Qi restrictions binding Situ Yan and grabbed her by the shoulders, his expression deadly serious.

“Legacy Disciple Situ, listen to me. From this moment on, you absolutely must not breathe a single word about what happened during your banquet. And under no circumstances are you to leak any information related to me!”

“Husband~ Whatever you say, Yan’er will do.”

Situ Yan nodded with absolute, doe-eyed obedience. Her seductive phoenix eyes were glued to his face, practically dripping with aggressive, cloying affection.

Seeing her act like a perfectly tamed, clingy little bird made the hairs on the back of Qi Yuan’s neck stand up. He quickly added, “Actually, I vastly prefer the wildly arrogant, untamed, murderous demeanor you had earlier. Could you please revert to that?”

If Ji Chan’er walked in and saw Situ Yan looking at him like a lovesick puppy, she would instantly realize something was horribly wrong. He wouldn’t be able to explain his way out of that!

“Arrogant and untamed?”

Situ Yan blinked in genuine confusion, then firmly shook her head. “How could I possibly do that to you? Yan’er was just being ignorant before. Now that I know how incredibly wonderful my husband is, I must violently purge all my bad habits!”

“Please don’t!”

Qi Yuan’s face flushed. Forcing down the rising panic in his chest, he grabbed her wrist and, with significant physical effort, managed to peel her warm, clinging body off his arm.

He let out a dry cough to cover his mounting embarrassment and put on his sternest, most domineering face. “Legacy Disciple Situ, I utterly despise disobedient women. If you do not follow my exact instructions, then we are through. I will simply find someone more obedient.”

As the words left his mouth, his expression twisted into a knot of deep self-loathing.

Wait. That sounded horrible! Why do I suddenly sound like a toxic scumbag trying to manipulate a vulnerable girl?!

Grandmaster Ling Yu, is this how you treat your own grand-disciple?! This isn’t a Heart-Tying Talisman! It’s a Heart-Attack Talisman!

His internal monologue was currently screaming into the void.

“Husband, please…”

Situ Yan’s eyes instantly welled with fat tears. She looked utterly devastated, as if her entire world was collapsing. “Alright! Yan’er will change! I’ll do whatever you want! Just please, promise you won’t throw Yan’er away!”

A massive headache throbbed behind Qi Yuan’s eyes. Taking a deep breath, he soldiered on.

“Also, whenever we are in front of outsiders, you must address me by my name! You are strictly forbidden from calling me ‘Husband Qi’ or ‘Husband’! Furthermore, you are absolutely not allowed to physically drape yourself all over me!”

“You must swear to abide by these two rules. Do you understand me?!”

Are you kidding?! If anyone saw the untouchable eldest daughter of the Situ Clan acting like a brainwashed simp for a lowly Outer Sect Disciple, the resulting shockwave would destroy him. Never mind how the terrifying Situ Clan Ancestor would react—the army of rabid simps trailing behind Situ Yan would literally tear him limb from limb!

As one of the four great beauties of the Demonic Sect, Situ Yan didn’t just have an angelic face; her figure was a literal weapon of mass destruction. Her popularity utterly dwarfed the other three beauties. She was the unattainable dream goddess of countless Demonic Cultivators.

If that mob found out their untouchable goddess had been reduced to a fawning lapdog, they would collectively lose their minds and declare a holy war on him.

Therefore, in front of outsiders, her psychotic obsession had to be kept an absolute secret. Otherwise, he was a dead man walking.

“Oh…” Situ Yan lowered her head, pouting softly.

But a second later, she perked right back up. A flash of sly, predatory excitement glinted deep in her eyes. She leaned in, her voice dropping into a husky, coquettish whisper. “Husband… since there are no outsiders here right now, does that mean Yan’er can…”

“Can what?”

Qi Yuan’s brain was still frantically running threat assessments. He answered completely subconsciously.

Instantly, a wave of intoxicating perfume washed over him.

A pair of snow-white, jade-like arms snaked around his neck. A soft, incredibly warm body pressed flush against his chest, making him feel like he had just plunged into a pile of silk clouds.

Caught completely off guard by the aggressive tackle-hug, Qi Yuan’s brain blue-screened. Snapping back to reality, he threw his hands up in a panic to push her away—

And accidentally grabbed a handful of something incredibly soft.

Qi Yuan froze like a statue. He slowly looked down, and all the blood rushed to his face so fast he nearly had a nosebleed. He snatched his hands back as if he had been burned, bracing himself as he stammered, “L-Legacy Disciple Situ, please behave yourself! I am not that kind of person! Also… could you please pull your dress back up?!”

At that exact moment.

Outside Grade A Courtyard No. 1.

A blinding streak of light tore through the sky, crashing into the courtyard with a heavy thud. As the light faded, Ji Chan’er’s graceful, slender silhouette stepped forward. She had just sprinted back from the Ji Clan’s Ancestral Land.

A dark cloud of heavy anxiety shadowed her brows. She stepped into the courtyard, her gaze sweeping the area. Spotting the door to the main hall left slightly ajar, she marched straight toward it.

As she reached the doorway, she froze.

Her beautiful eyes widened in sheer disbelief, quickly followed by a surge of raw, murderous fury.

Without a second of hesitation, Ji Chan’er kicked the door open and stormed into the room, her voice dripping with ice.

“Situ Yan! What the hell are you doing here?!”

Inside the room, a fully dressed and perfectly composed Situ Yan was lounging lazily in the main seat, casually sipping a cup of hot tea.

Seeing Ji Chan’er storm in, Situ Yan didn’t even bother to stand. She slowly lowered her teacup, giving the furious woman a sideways, deeply condescending glance.

“Junior Sister Ji,” Situ Yan drawled, her voice dripping with haughty arrogance. “Your Senior Sister came down to Blood Refining Peak to offer some Cultivation guidance to a fellow Junior Brother. Since when do I need to file a report with you?”

Ji Chan’er’s delicate brows knit together. Her pretty face morphed into a mask of pure frost. “Where you go is your business. However, Big Qi is under my protection! If you dare lay a finger on him, I will not show you a shred of mercy!”

The air in the room instantly dropped several degrees. Ji Chan’er wasn’t bluffing; genuine Killing Intent spiked in her aura.

Seeing the situation rapidly escalating toward a bloodbath, Qi Yuan hurriedly stepped between them. He forced a calm, entirely unfazed smile.

“Senior Sister Ji, please, relax. Legacy Disciple Situ merely happened to be passing by. She hasn’t done anything to harm me.”

As he spoke, he frantically beamed a localized sound transmission directly into Situ Yan’s ears: Leave! Right now! Get out!

Thanks to the Heart-Tying Talisman, Situ Yan’s Favorability toward him was completely maxed out. If she stayed in this room any longer, heaven only knew what psychotic, clingy stunt she might pull in front of Ji Chan’er.

If this erupted into a full-blown romantic battlefield, the fallout would be catastrophic.

Instead of leaving, Situ Yan unhurriedly placed her teacup on the table. She looked Ji Chan’er up and down with an appraising, deeply mocking gaze, a wicked smirk playing on her red lips.

“It seems you value this man quite highly, Junior Sister. To think you’re actually willing to declare war on me over an Outer Sect Disciple. Tsk, tsk… how fascinating.”

She stood up, slowly pacing forward. “I’ll be honest with you. I find your man quite to my liking as well. You had better keep him on a very short leash, Junior Sister Ji… lest your Senior Sister snatches him away.”

Qi Yuan’s soul left his body. He stared at Situ Yan, fighting the desperate urge to lunge forward and physically clamp a hand over her mouth.

Didn’t you literally just swear to obey my every command?! Why are you suddenly improvising a villain monologue?!

“Situ Yan!”

Ji Chan’er’s temper violently ignited. Her willow brows shot up, and her voice turned deadly. “You shameless, filthy woman! How can you even utter such garbage?! Are you completely unconcerned with dragging the Situ Clan’s reputation through the mud?!”

“Heh.” Situ Yan sneered, completely ignoring the frantic, terrified glares Qi Yuan was shooting her from the sidelines. “Have you forgotten what Sect you belong to, Junior Sister? ‘Reputation’ is a fragile toy cherished by the hypocrites of the righteous path.”

She lifted her chin. “In The Saint Sect, the victor writes the reputation.”

Having delivered her flawless villainous exit line, she gracefully turned to leave. Her luxurious red dress fluttered around her like a blooming rose in a storm. As she sashayed past Qi Yuan, she made sure her back was to Ji Chan’er before shooting him an incredibly filthy, alluring wink.

Qi Yuan’s mouth twitched uncontrollably.

What the… are all women just born with a master’s degree in theatrical acting?!
