Reed River City.
Qi Yuan suppressed his aura and once again disguised himself as “Big Qi.” He navigated through a maze of narrow alleys and soon arrived at a secluded courtyard.
“Come in.”
Before he could even raise his hand to knock, the wooden door swung open. A clear, pleasant female voice drifted from within.
Hearing the voice, Qi Yuan raised an eyebrow and strode into the courtyard.
In the center stood a woman in a purple dress, her beauty breathtaking. It was Ji Chan’er, the one who had arranged this meeting.
Ji Chan’er seemed to have regained her composure, but her gaze toward Qi Yuan held a cold aloofness, keeping him at a distance.
“Big Qi,” she said, slightly lifting her eyes as he entered, her expression blank. “Has Bai Xirou been to see you recently?”
“Did you… sleep with her too, just like you did with me?”
Her voice was icy, barely masking a hint of tension.
It wasn’t until yesterday that she remembered using the Thousand Illusions Soul Capture technique on Falling Cloud Valley’s Eldest Senior Sister, Bai Xirou, to make her seduce the man before her.
Originally, this was a perfect plan. Once successful, it would force this Heaven-born Devil Seed to break ties with Falling Cloud Valley, leaving him no choice but to join The Saint Sect.
But now, the situation was different. The thought that he might have another woman because of her own scheme made Ji Chan’er feel restless and irritable. She almost wished she could strangle someone to death.
“Uh…”
As Ji Chan’er asked the question, Qi Yuan felt the temperature around him drop. A faint, almost imperceptible, baleful aura filled the air.
Sensing the atmosphere turning sour, Qi Yuan shivered and quickly spoke.
“Fairy Ji, Eldest Senior Sister did come to find me. But she only helped me tidy up my cave abode and left shortly after.”
He pointed to the sky, swearing earnestly, his words flowing smoothly without a single crack.
“I can swear that, aside from that time in the illusion, I haven’t slept with any other woman. If I’m lying, may I never find a Dao companion in my entire life.”
Seeing his sincerity, Ji Chan’er’s expression softened slightly, a subtle sense of relief washing over her.
Could it be… that the Soul Formation realm Formation Spirit noticed something amiss and broke my Soul Capture technique?
Her expression gradually warmed, and she gave a light humph. “This seat doesn’t care about your relationships with other women. If you dare harbor improper thoughts about me again, I will definitely kill you!”
Though her words were harsh, the frosty aura around them dissipated, vanishing without a trace.
Relieved, Qi Yuan let out a long sigh. Pretending to be casual, he tentatively asked, “Fairy Ji, what do you think of the Supreme Mystery Holy Scion?”
“Why do you ask?” Ji Chan’er furrowed her brows, looking at him with confusion.
“Nothing much,” Qi Yuan said, rubbing his nose naturally. “I’m just curious. I heard the Supreme Mystery Sanctuary conferred a new Holy Scion a few months ago. I wonder if you, a True Disciple of a Devil Sect, have any prejudices against the Holy Scion of a righteous sect?”
Before revealing his identity, some probing was necessary. He didn’t want to turn a reunion into a clichéd drama of irreconcilable conflict between good and evil.
Even as a Holy Scion, Qi Yuan didn’t hold strong prejudices against Devil Sects. The righteous path had its share of bad apples too. If he judged everyone by their faction, he’d be exhausted and have no time for cultivation.
His method for judging friend or foe was simple: anyone who made things difficult for him was an enemy!
Ji Chan’er, seemingly in a decent mood, pondered for a moment before answering.
“Although I don’t know what kind of person that Supreme Mystery Holy Scion is, in my view, those hypocritical Dao cultivators are all the same. Especially those from the Seven Great Sanctuaries; most are fame-seeking, utterly hypocritical trash.”
“If I encounter him in the future, I’ll have to properly fight him and show the world my methods.”
“It’s because those hypocrites put on airs of being lofty and righteous, labeling us Saint Sect disciples as heretical demons and deviant paths…”
She smiled proudly, her tone filled with eager, combative spirit.
“Mmm… Fairy Ji, you certainly have great ambition.”
Qi Yuan responded dryly, instantly dismissing the thought of revealing his identity.
This demoness clearly held deep prejudices against the Seven Great Sanctuaries. If he told her he was the Supreme Mystery Holy Scion now, they’d probably start fighting immediately.
Although he was confident he could subdue her quickly, attacking his own woman was not something to be happy about.
Moreover, given Ji Chan’er’s tsundere personality, if defeated, she wouldn’t yield easily. It could turn into a life-or-death struggle where the fish dies and the net breaks.
Without a good solution, Qi Yuan chose to hold his position.
Since her hidden identity in Falling Cloud Valley was already exposed—and with a Soul Formation realm Formation Spirit guarding the place—she wouldn’t dare return. Therefore, she naturally wouldn’t find out that “Big Qi” was actually the Supreme Mystery Holy Scion…
Just as his thoughts raced, Ji Chan’er suddenly adopted a serious expression and spoke solemnly.
“Big Qi, the reason I summoned you is to inform you of one thing.”
“You must leave Falling Cloud Valley and return to The Saint Sect with me. Once there, I guarantee you a position as an Inner Sect Disciple!”
“Ah?”
Qi Yuan froze on the spot, repeating in shock, “Me? Join the Nether Fiend Sect?”
Seeing his reaction, Ji Chan’er assumed he was dumbfounded with joy. She nodded firmly.
“As an Inner Sect Disciple, the cultivation resources you can obtain in The Saint Sect are thousands of times greater than in Falling Cloud Valley. Plus, with the Ji Clan’s protection, no one would dare bully you.”
She smiled proudly, adding, “A few days ago, my clan’s Patriarch advanced further, reaching the peak of the Great Ascension realm. He is now the undisputed number one figure in The Saint Sect. Before long, the Ji Clan will become the sect’s premier family.”
“As long as you serve diligently under me, once I obtain the position of Holy Maiden, I can even give you a spot as a True Disciple…”
Holy shit!
Qi Yuan listened, utterly dumbfounded.
I am the dignified Holy Scion of a Sanctuary, and you want me to go be a True Disciple of a Devil Sect?
