Chapter 290: Bai Ling: Brother Lie, This Time I’ll Take the Initiative!
Han Lie paused, a flicker of surprise in his eyes before understanding dawned. He saw exactly what Ye Qingxuan was doing.
Her meaning was simple. The choice, and the risk, was his alone: if he deemed Bai Ling trustworthy, he could give her the Yin volume of the Yin Yang Demonic Art to cultivate.
Having once held the demonic art in her own hands, Bai Ling recognized the scroll instantly.
“Master, my obsession with the Yin Yang Demonic Art was born from my history with the Sun Moon Sect,” she explained hastily. “The Ten Thousand Blood Pagoda Art you’ve given me is already a supreme technique! I don’t have any strong feelings about which one I cultivate.”
Ye Qingxuan’s voice was calm and level. “The Ten Thousand Blood Pagoda Art is indeed a top-tier technique. But in terms of potential, its upper limit is far inferior to the Yin Yang Demonic Art.”
“Your cultivation is not yet so profound that the cost of switching is unacceptable,” she continued, her gaze shifting to Han Lie. “Han Lie, when Bai Ling finds a Dao companion she truly desires, you may decide whether to give this to her.”
“Understood.” Han Lie gave a slight nod.
“You are dismissed.”
Once they were outside the Violet Heaven Palace, Han Lie turned to her. “Saintess, what are your thoughts? If you switch now, you could regain your current level in just a few years.”
To switch techniques, a cultivator had to first disperse their existing spiritual power—a perilous process. If the conflicting energies weren’t handled perfectly, the backlash could be catastrophic, even causing one’s body to detonate from the inside out.
However, after the reset, the foundational understanding of one’s realm remained. Re-cultivation would be astonishingly fast.
Considering Bai Ling’s early Nascent Soul Stage cultivation, combined with her exceptional talent and comprehension, Han Lie knew he could accelerate the process even further through their dual cultivation. He estimated it would take her two, maybe three years at most to return to the Nascent Soul Stage.
From a long-term perspective, the benefits were astronomical.
Two or three years was a blink of an eye for a Nascent Soul cultivator. In fact, without a significant Fated Chance, it was doubtful Bai Ling could even reach the mid-Nascent Soul Stage in that time through normal means.
“I… Brother Lie, why don’t you decide for me?” After a moment’s thought, Bai Ling placed the decision entirely in his hands.
To her, the choice was simple. Her trust in Han Lie was absolute and unconditional. He had, after all, given her a second chance at life. Who else could she possibly trust more?
“My decision?” Han Lie’s voice was firm, without a shred of hesitation. “Then you switch.”
Her situation was clear. From any angle, the advantages of her cultivating the Yin Yang Demonic Art massively outweighed the risks.
And, most importantly, it would benefit him as well.
“Alright, I’ll listen to you!” Bai Ling beamed, her smile radiant.
Han Lie had explained the art’s drawbacks to her long ago, but from her current perspective, they could no longer be considered drawbacks at all. For a pair like them, the “drawbacks” had become the greatest benefit.
“Hehe, so… shall we get started on that switch right now?” Han Lie rubbed his hands together, his eagerness poorly disguised.
“Hmm… Brother Lie, there’s no need to rush, is there?” Bai Ling replied, a playful glint in her eye. “I just broke through. I’d like to familiarize myself with the power of the Nascent Soul Stage first. That way, the path will be clearer when I re-cultivate, don’t you think?”
“You have a point,” Han Lie conceded. “We can wait. A little delay won’t make a difference.”
As they spoke, they arrived before the gates of Violet Cloud Palace.
“Brother Lie, would you like to come in and… keep me company for a while?” Bai Ling glanced at the entrance, her invitation hanging in the air.
“Keep you company? Absolutely.”
Gazing at her flawless, porcelain skin and her vibrant, youthful face, a familiar fire ignited within Han Lie. It had been far too long since they had last cultivated together.
Tonight, he would worship her properly.
“Brother Lie… Ah!”
The moment they stepped inside, before Bai Ling could say another word, Han Lie swept her off her feet into a princess carry.
“Brother Lie, what… what are you doing!” A deep blush crept up her cheeks as she feigned innocence, her heart hammering against her ribs.
“Didn’t you invite me in to… *do* a few things?” he grinned, his voice a low rumble.
Bai Ling froze for a second. When his meaning crashed over her, a crimson blush flooded her face, reaching all the way to her neck.
“You’re terrible, Brother Lie! I hate you!” she squeaked, burying her face in the crook of his neck.
“I’ve perfected a few new techniques recently,” he murmured. “Care for a demonstration?”
“W-what new techniques?”
“Hehe, you’re about to find out.”
He carried her upstairs. In the privacy of her chambers, with no one else around, Bai Ling’s inhibitions melted away.
She looked up at him, her expression a devastating mix of shyness and allure, her dark eyes shimmering like autumn pools. “Brother Lie, you haven’t truly satisfied me since you reached the Nascent Soul Stage.”
As she spoke, her delicate, jade-like hand drifted downwards.
In the next instant, her beautiful eyes flew wide open. A look of pure shock washed over her exquisite face.
She was stunned.
Since his breakthrough, his Pure Yang Sacred Body had undergone… a profound transformation. The sheer potency she could feel radiating from him was staggering. Amidst her shock, a thrilling wave of excitement and anticipation surged through her.
“Now that you mention it, I suppose that’s true…” Han Lie mused, realizing she was right. “Don’t worry. Tonight, your Brother Lie will satisfy your every desire.”
He gently placed her on the soft couch.
The moment she was down, Bai Ling surged up, her lips capturing his in a desperate, hungry kiss. Ever since tasting the forbidden fruit, she had become utterly infatuated with the act of dual cultivation. It was Han Lie’s Pure Yang Sacred Body—it was simply too overwhelming, conquering her every time until she could only beg for mercy.
It was an addiction she had gladly succumbed to. After years without him, her desire had reached a fever pitch.
Following a searing kiss that felt like wildfire consuming dry tinder, she eagerly began to peel away his robes. The sight of his powerful, lean muscles, perfectly defined without being bulky, left her breathless and mesmerized.
She pushed him down onto the couch, making him lie back. Leaning in close, she whispered, her breath hot against his ear, “Brother Lie, you’ve always been the one to lead. Tonight… let me take the initiative, just this once. Please?”
“By all means,” Han Lie replied, a lazy, confident smile playing on his lips. “Show me what you’ve learned.”
He obediently lay still, his hands behind his head.
After gracefully shedding her own robes, Bai Ling climbed on top of him.
