Chapter 225: All Deserve to Die
“Sect Leader, gaining unrestricted access to the Technique Pavilion is already the greatest gift. There is no need for anything else—”
Han Yu had not expected Sect Leader Qi to offer even more, and he hurriedly tried to decline.
“The access to the pavilion is the Sect’s reward. This,” Qi said, gesturing to the items in his hand, “is a personal gift from me.”
He began to explain the contents of the jade boxes. “This first box contains a Green Wood Thunder Pill. Its explosive power is equivalent to a mid-tier attack from a Golden Core cultivator. I used a unique refining technique to create it, so it won’t drain much of your Qi. Just infuse a small amount to activate it, then throw it at your enemy.”
“However, be warned: once thrown, you cannot control it. You must turn and flee immediately. Do not look back, or the blast radius will catch you as well.”
“The second jade box contains three Spirit Vine seeds.”
“You saw how I used similar seeds to capture those rogue cultivators. While using them to bind enemies might not suit your current style, planting them around you to launch surprise ambushes can be a very effective tactic.”
Han Yu accepted the two jade boxes and bowed deeply in thanks.
Elder Lü watched the exchange with a warm smile, then produced his own gift: a palm-sized, jagged piece of bluish-gray stone. It looked like a fragment of a larger slab.
Sect Leader Qi’s eyes widened in surprise. “You’re giving him that? That is your own life-saving treasure!”
Elder Lü smiled gently. “My disciple needs it more than I do right now.”
He turned to Han Yu and explained, “I don’t know what this object truly is, so I simply call it the ‘Teleportation Stone Slab.'”
“It was one of the greatest finds of my life. Its function is simple: no matter where or when, activating it will instantly teleport you ten miles away.”
“However, since the slab is broken, its power is limited. It can only be used once per day.”
“But in a life-or-death emergency, that single use can work miracles.”
Han Yu opened his mouth to refuse, but seeing the firm resolve in his Master’s eyes, he swallowed his words and accepted the broken stone slab with both hands.
Thanks to the generosity of his elders, Han Yu was now exceedingly well-equipped. In addition to full access to the Technique Pavilion, he had obtained the Green Wood Thunder Pill, Spirit Vine seeds, the Teleportation Stone Slab, several Foundation Establishment-grade talismans, four types of pills—Gathering Essence, Returning Essence, Body Protection, and Spirit Spring—as well as a defensive artifact and armor suited for his new realm.
Before, he had been uncertain about his immediate path. Now, his goal was clear.
Cultivation was essential, of course, but duplicating these treasures was urgent.
For the next few days, Han Yu split his time between interrogating the captive Myriad Phenomena Sect disciple and replicating his new assets.
Having advanced from Qi Refining to Foundation Establishment, Han Yu’s replication ability had improved significantly.
Treasures that previously took ten days or more to duplicate—like the Thousand-Year Sunkwood Heart, Ancestral Tree Spirit Liquid, Sword Heart Spirit Crystal, and Talisman Treasures—now required only about eight days of accumulated energy.
Among the new items, the Teleportation Stone Slab proved the most difficult. Han Yu estimated that even twenty days of accumulated energy might barely be enough to copy the fragmented stone. For now, he was limited to one teleportation per day.
The Green Wood Thunder Pill was also challenging. Its complex internal structure of thunder runes, refined by a Golden Core cultivator, made it harder to copy than a Talisman Treasure. The exact time required would need to be verified later.
However, many other items became much easier to replicate. Foundation Establishment Pills, the four auxiliary pills, and talismans like the Thunder Lightning, Geng Metal, and Ice talismans were now trivial to mass-produce.
He could also easily duplicate Elder Wen’s Hundred Flowers Detoxification Liquid, the Purple Sun Fruit, and Sect Leader Qi’s Spirit Vine seeds. The energy required ranged from a single day to three or four days, pending testing.
On the eighth day, Han Yu went to visit his “Junior Brother” from the Myriad Phenomena Sect. Before he even entered the cell block, he noticed the two guards looking flustered. A bad premonition stirred in his gut.
“We were just about to report to the Sect Leader…” one guard stammered.
“For some reason… the prisoner suddenly died!”
Han Yu waved a hand, dismissing one guard to notify the Sect Leader while he entered the cell. Standing over the corpse of his “Junior Brother,” he felt a chill.
The major sects of the Central Heaven Domain were not only more powerful than Wanchun Valley; they were also far crueler.
The Myriad Phenomena Sect must have realized they lost contact with their agent. Rather than risk exposure, they likely triggered a failsafe in his bloodline, killing him remotely.
Moments later, Sect Leader Qi arrived. After verifying the cause of death, he incinerated the corpse into ash—partly to destroy evidence, and partly to ensure the man hadn’t used some secret art to feign death and escape.
Once the body was gone, Sect Leader Qi turned to Han Yu. “Did you learn enough about his identity?”
Han Yu nodded. “Sect Leader, rest assured. I have a complete grasp of his background, identity, and the general operations of Myriad Phenomena disciples.”
“His name was Mi Gaolin. He had dual Spirit Roots, no special talents, and reached Foundation Establishment at the age of thirty-two…”
As Han Yu recited the details, Sect Leader Qi opened Mi Gaolin’s Storage Bag and allowed Han Yu to select items.
Han Yu retrieved a star chart disk carved with intricate constellations and sharp edges.
“This is his identity token.”
Sect Leader Qi scanned it with his Divine Sense, impressed. “The craftsmanship is exquisite. On the surface, it looks identical to any other star chart.”
“If you hadn’t known in advance and cultivated the Star Luo Traction Technique, it would have been impossible to impersonate a Myriad Phenomena disciple with this alone.”
Han Yu nodded. “Precisely. From today on, I have a new identity: Mi Gaolin, Foundation Establishment disciple of the Myriad Phenomena Sect.”
“Use it with caution,” Sect Leader Qi warned. “The fact that they killed the real Mi Gaolin means this identity is compromised. It can only be used in emergencies, not for long-term infiltration.”
Han Yu nodded, acknowledging the risk.
On the ninth day, Han Yu quietly slipped out of Wanchun Valley to avoid the imminent arrival of Ye Guxing.
On the tenth day, Ye Guxing arrived at Wanchun Valley as expected, holding the hand of a drooling, dazed little girl.
He was accompanied by Chen Ying, Li Tonghai, and a contingent of Spirit Sword Sect disciples. Predictably, they all asked to see Han Yu, eager to spar with the newly minted genius.
Sect Leader Qi expressed polite regret, informing them that Han Yu was currently away on urgent business and would return in a few days.
The sparring matches and social exchanges between disciples were merely the appetizer for this meeting. The main course was the intelligence sharing between the two sects and the formation of a joint strategy.
The Little Sky Net Sect had firmly sided with the Myriad Phenomena Sect. The Mystic One Sect was fence-sitting, offering pretty words but no trust.
Wanchun Valley, designated as the birthplace of the “Demon Star,” had no retreat. They had to fight to the bitter end.
Ye Guxing’s stance was blunt and uncompromising: The collusion between the Central Heaven Domain’s Demonic Cultivators and the Saint Blood Perfected One to harm the people of the Southern Region was an established fact.
He cared about little else. But as far as he was concerned, every Demonic Cultivator deserved to die.
