Chapter 158: Sun Yi’s Detailed Arrangements
“The task ahead is monumental,” Sun Yi said, his expression serious. “Our ambitions are vast, but our hands are few. I must ask both Patriarchs to relocate your clans to the Chaos Demon Commandery with all haste.”
“Agreed,” Ouyang Can nodded eagerly. “We will not delay.”
Xia Mu mirrored his enthusiasm. Having seen the miraculous foundation of the Qingyun Sect, they were desperate to integrate their families into this rising power before the secret got out.
“Let us return to the surface,” Sun Yi said.
As they emerged from the underground palace, a massive shadow fell over them. A flying boat descended through the clouds, bearing the insignia of the sect.
“Perfect timing,” Sun Yi smiled. “Elder Ye Luo has returned. Patriarchs, you can see the results of our training program firsthand.”
They flew up to meet the vessel.
Elder Ye Luo and Elder Li Tai disembarked first. Before they could ask about the strangers, Sun Yi made the introductions.
“Elders, these are our new Patriarchs, Ouyang Can and Xia Mu. And these are Elders Ouyang Zhong and Xia Xing.”
Ye Luo and Li Tai were stunned, but they recovered quickly, bowing deeply. “Greetings to the Patriarchs! Greetings to the Elders!”
“At ease,” Patriarch Qingxuan said warmly. “You have done well.”
Behind them, the flying boat emptied. Over a thousand Foundation Establishment cultivators filled the sky, their auras resonating in harmony.
“Greetings to the Patriarchs! Greetings to the Headmaster! Greetings to the Elders! Greetings to the Deputy Headmaster!” Their voices shook the air.
Ouyang Can and Xia Mu swept their Divine Sense over the crowd. Their eyes widened. Every single one of these disciples had a solid foundation, despite many having clearly inferior Spirit Roots.
“Good! Truly excellent!” Ouyang Can laughed. He turned to Sun Yi. “Headmaster, if there is nothing else, I will depart immediately to fetch my clan.”
“One moment,” Sun Yi said. “I have prepared a shopping list.”
He quickly inscribed a jade slip with the materials needed for the sect’s expansion—specifically, rare alloys for more Demon Refining Towers.
“Elder Qin Chu,” Sun Yi ordered, “Prepare a resource package for the Patriarchs’ journey.”
“No need,” Ouyang Can waved his hand. “We have ample reserves. Consider the travel expenses our first contribution to the sect.”
Sun Yi didn’t argue. “Then I thank the Patriarchs on behalf of the disciples.”
“Xia Xing,” Xia Mu turned to his descendant. “You stay here. Follow the Headmaster’s orders as if they were mine.”
“Yes, Patriarch.”
“Ouyang Zhong,” Ouyang Can commanded. “You too. Learn from them.”
“Understood.”
With final farewells, the two Patriarchs turned into streaks of light and vanished over the horizon.
Sun Yi watched them go, then turned back to his team. The pleasantries were over. It was time to work.
“Elder Han Yun. Status?”
“Two hundred construction teams are ready,” Han Yun reported. “One thousand disciples total. We can raise two hundred Dao Palaces simultaneously.”
“Good,” Sun Yi nodded. “Gather them. I will personally oversee the construction of the first Qingyun Dao Palace to set the standard.”
He turned to Qin Chu. “Elder Qin Chu. Take twelve hundred disciples. Split them into four hundred teams. Your mission is to secure the resource points left behind by the Black Wind Stockade and Evil Spirit Valley. Prioritize the spirit mines and herb gardens.”
“It shall be done,” Qin Chu replied sharply.
“Elder Jin Jue,” Sun Yi continued. “Mobilize the War Hall. Take another thousand disciples. Equip them with Spirit Plates. Your orders are to purge the Chaos Demon Commandery of all demon beasts. Kill without mercy. If you encounter evil cultivators, execute them. But remind the disciples: Do not throw your lives away. If an enemy is too strong, retreat and mark the location.”
“Understood!” Jin Jue saluted and marched off to rally his troops.
Sun Yi turned to the new Elders.
“Elder Xia Xing. Take three hundred disciples to Black Wind Mountain. Your task is to rebuild the infrastructure there. That will be the future site of our main sect. While you are there, use the sect’s resources to temper your body. You need to be ready for the Five Gates procedure.”
Xia Xing’s eyes lit up. “Thank you, Headmaster!”
“Elder Ouyang Zhong. You will guard the current mountain gate. Use the time to temper your body as well. We cannot have Golden Core Elders lagging behind the disciples.”
“Thank you, Headmaster!” Ouyang Zhong beamed.
Finally, Sun Yi looked at Ye Luo.
“Elder Ye Luo. Take one hundred disciples to Evil Spirit Valley. Occupy it. I am drafting blueprints for a Super Market—a massive commercial hub. For now, clear the rubble and lay the foundations.”
“Rest assured, Headmaster,” Ye Luo nodded.
Sun Yi paused, calculating. The sect’s manpower was stretched to the breaking point. Four thousand disciples sounded like a lot, but for a project this size, it was a drop in the ocean.
He needed more boots on the ground.
He looked at Elder Li Tai.
“Elder Li Tai. I have one more task for you.”
“Headmaster?”
“Take one hundred disciples and scatter them across the Commandery’s major settlements. Post a bounty.”
Sun Yi’s eyes gleamed.
“Announce that the Qingyun Sect is purchasing demon beast corpses—specifically those with intact souls. We will pay in Points.”
He listed the prices rapidly: “50 Points for First Order Low Grade… up to 5000 Points for Second Order High Grade. But there is a condition: The corpse and soul must be complete, and they cannot be farm-raised.”
“We are going to outsource the war,” Sun Yi grinned. “Let the rogue cultivators hunt for us.”
