Synopsis

“They meditate for enlightenment. I audit for efficiency.”
Sun Yi, a top-tier scientist from Earth, transmigrates into the body of a lowly servant disciple in the Qingyun Sect. His start is a nightmare: he has trash-tier Spirit Roots, no background, and the sect itself is on the brink of bankruptcy, surrounded by hostile warlords.
In a world where strength is everything, Sun Yi realizes the Elders have it all wrong. A sect isn’t a family; it’s a corporation. And the Qingyun Sect is failing because of bad management.
Using modern business strategies and scientific knowledge, Sun Yi stages a “hostile takeover” to become the new Sect Leader (CEO). He doesn’t rely on luck or destiny; he relies on Capital.
His Reform Plan:
The “Pay-to-Win” Strategy: Why meditate for ten years when you can burn 500 million points of resources to level up in a week? Time is money.
R&D Revolution: Can’t use Divine Sense in the Forbidden Forest? Invent a “Spirit Plate” (Radar) to loot resources while others are flying blind.
Financial Leverage: Introduce “Sect Loans” and “Performance KPIs” to turn lazy disciples into hyper-productive employees.
Hostile Takeovers: Why risk your own life in war? Use the sect’s profits to outsource violence and hire high-level mercenaries to wipe out rival sects.
Watch Sun Yi turn a crumbling sect into a cultivation empire, proving that with enough funding, even a trash talent can defy the Heavens.
Welcome to Cultivation, Inc. We are now open for business.

What to expect:
Smart / Rational MC: The MC treats cultivation like a business project. No brainless arrogance.
Kingdom / Sect Building: Detailed management of resources, personnel, and expansion.
Weak-to-Strong (via Resources): The MC starts weak but becomes OP by “eating” resources like candy.
Tech meets Magic: Creating radars (Spirit Plates), assembly lines, and modern concepts in a Xianxia world.
No Harem: The MC is married to the grind (and the Sect’s GDP).
Face-Slapping: But done with logic, money, and policy changes rather than just fists.

Chapter 147: Sun Yi’s Arrangements

Inside the central great hall, Sun Yi was deep in the middle of an inventory check, his divine sense sweeping through the contents of the Storage Ring. Soon, a satisfied, predatory smile spread across his face.

The loot was absolutely stacked.

Inside lay an absurd amount of consumables. Spirit Pills were piled high, practically overflowing into digital mountains in his mind. While most of them were lower-tier stat boosters meant for Qi Refining and Foundation Establishment cultivators, the sheer volume made up for the lack of quality.

Beyond the potions, there were bricks of High Grade and Middle Grade Spirit Stones—essentially high-density energy cells—along with crates of low-grade Spirit Weapons and a digital library’s worth of cultivation manuals.

Sun Yi wasted zero time. He immediately ran a backup copy of the two body tempering techniques, uploading them straight into his memory. He wasn’t the least bit polite about the natural treasures, either. Any high-tier, rare-grade materials that could optimize his own stats were shamelessly transferred into his personal inventory.

If I don’t use it, it’s just going to sit in the Sect’s treasury anyway, he rationalized. Might as well maximize my personal combat power first.

Nearby, Elder Jin Jue and the other elders watched him in silence. Instead of taking offense at their Headmaster’s blatant greed, their faces were etched with fond smiles. To them, Sun Yi was the Sect’s only hope against the cruel Heavens. They eagerly wished for him to grow powerful as quickly as possible, to reach the peak of the Dao.

It took Sun Yi a considerable amount of time to finish auditing the assets. Even after skimming off a hefty personal commission, the remaining mountain of loot was still staggering.

He tossed the Storage Ring over to Elder Qin Chu. “Elder Qin Chu, the remaining resources are yours to liquidate. Get them sorted and integrated into the Sect’s supply chain.”

“Understood, Headmaster. Leave this old man to handle the treasury,” Elder Qin Chu said, bowing respectfully as he pocketed the ring.

Sun Yi then shifted his focus, his gaze locking onto Elder Han Yun.

“Elder Han Yun, listen up. Once we finish wiping the Black Wind Stockade and Evil Spirit Valley off the map, I need you to mobilize the disciples immediately. We are expanding our market share into the major mortal cities. I want a Qingyun Dao Palace constructed in every major hub.”

He flicked his wrist, casually tossing a jade slip through the air. Elder Han Yun caught it deftly.

“That drive contains my blueprints and operational specs for the Qingyun Dao Palace,” Sun Yi explained, tapping his temple. “Just follow the installation guide.”

Simply put, Sun Yi was planning a massive infrastructure rollout. He wanted a Qingyun Dao Palace anchored in every large human city across the Chaos Demon Commandery.

In front of each Dao Palace would be a massive public square, designed for high foot traffic. In the very center, two towering Qingyun Stele would be erected. One stele would openly display the source code—the first layer—of the Myriad Spirit Body Tempering Art. The second stele would display the first layer of the Five Elements Art.

It was an open-source model. The introductory layers of both techniques would be free to the public; any mortal could download the knowledge and start cultivating.

To ensure maximum user retention, the Qingyun Stele would also feature hyper-detailed annotations and patch notes. Even a mortal with a low-tier Spirit Root could reach the Novice stage just by following the on-screen prompts.

Behind the main architecture of the Dao Palace, Sun Yi established a five-man operational team. Five Qingyun Sect cultivators would be stationed at each branch to manage the local ecosystem.

“The first operative,” Sun Yi lectured, holding up a finger, “will be the HR Director. They are strictly responsible for preaching the Dao and running public assessments. Anyone who passes the intake test gets recruited directly into the Qingyun Sect.”

“The second operative is HR Support. They handle the background checks and establish the database for the new recruits. More importantly, they provide financial aid to the mortal families left behind, ensuring our new disciples have zero emotional baggage or financial worries.”

He raised a third finger. “Number three is Security. They handle pest control. Any demon or fox calamities spawning near the city limits? They kill them. If the aggro is too high for one person, they send a ticket up to the Sect, and the War Hall will dispatch a strike team.”

“Number four takes the role of City Lord. This is a regional management position. They handle the macro-level RNG events—droughts, floods, plagues, infrastructure damage. Their main KPI is promoting economic growth in the mortal sector.”

“The fifth operative is General Support. They act as the local medic, healing mortal illnesses, and assist the City Lord in troubleshooting day-to-day bugs.”

It was a perfectly balanced team composition. Five cultivators per Dao Palace. They would divide the workload, cooperate, and mutually supervise each other to prevent corruption. Sun Yi set the rotation timer at 5 years. After one term, the Sect would conduct a performance review, and the operatives would be rewarded with Sect Points based on their ROI.

For a cultivator, handling mortal affairs was low-difficulty content. But the salary and benefits Sun Yi was offering for this assignment were astronomically high.

To force the issue, Sun Yi planned to patch the Sect rules: Every single Qingyun Sect disciple must complete a 5-year internship at a Qingyun Dao Palace before graduation.

The native cultivators might not care about the hardships of the mortal realm, but Sun Yi knew the reality all too well.

Especially in this Cultivation world. Without modern technology to optimize agriculture or healthcare, these mortals were basically playing on Hardcore mode. They lived under the constant threat of Demon Beasts, suffered through famines, and were slaughtered in Sect wars. Their lives were cheap.

If Sun Yi wanted to turn the mortal population of the Chaos Demon Commandery into the Qingyun Sect’s most solid foundation, he had to provide a better user experience. He needed to upgrade their standard of living and make absolutely sure they knew it was the Qingyun Sect footing the bill.

It was basic brand loyalty. If you feed the players and keep the server safe, they will become your most loyal defenders.

Elder Han Yun scanned the contents of the jade slip. His eyes widened in absolute shock.

He had never expected the Headmaster to place such heavy importance on the mortal world. To traditional cultivators, mortals were nothing but ants beneath the Heavens. Why would an exalted immortal care about the life or death of insects, unless they shared a bloodline?

In fact, the standard meta was even colder. Upon stepping onto the path of immortality, one was supposed to sever all worldly ties to cleanse their Dao Heart.

Sun Yi completely rejected that logic. He didn’t care what the ancient texts said. To him, ignoring ninety-nine percent of the population was just bad business.

“Elder Han Yun, you can start the prep work now,” Sun Yi commanded, his voice turning cold. “The moment the Black Wind Stockade and Evil Spirit Valley are deleted from this map, we launch. And we move fast.”

He leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. “Announce this to the entire database of disciples: If I catch a single Qingyun Sect cultivator griefing the mortal population, the punishment will be absolute. No leniency. No appeals.”

A dark aura swirled around Sun Yi. “On the flip side, if any mortals dare to impede our cultivators or actively sabotage our operations? We do not hold back. For local tyrants and warlords who wreak havoc on the populace, show no mercy. Liquidate them.”

“I will allocate a massive budget for your division,” Sun Yi added, tapping the armrest of his throne. “When the beta test begins, I’ll be joining you.”

He had decided to personally oversee the construction of the first Dao Palace to set the benchmark.

“This subordinate understands, Headmaster,” Elder Han Yun said, bowing deeply, thoroughly awed by Sun Yi’s vast vision.

Sun Yi then turned to Elder Jin Jue, his expression turning deadly serious.

“Elder Jin Jue, prep the War Hall. Once we finish our immediate targets, you and Elder Li Tai will lead strike teams to comprehensively purge the Chaos Demon Commandery of all high-level monster spawns.”

“The Dao Palace disciples will handle the trash mobs near the cities. Your target is the entire Commandery.”

Sun Yi held up three fingers. “This offensive serves three purposes. First: Exp gain. The War Hall disciples need live combat. Only those who have survived the tempering of blood and fire can become true powerhouses. You can’t level up just by meditating indoors.”

“Second: Server stability. We are clearing the map of Demon Beasts to return a stable world to the ordinary mortals.”

“Third: Brand awareness. This is a marketing push. We are going to make the name ‘Qingyun Sect’ resound like thunder throughout the entire region.”

Sun Yi’s gaze sharpened. “Ensure proper loadouts for all outgoing disciples. Do not hoard resources! If they need consumables, they use them. I want everyone fully equipped with escape scrolls, teleportation talismans, and defensive gear. Prioritize survival over efficiency!”

Elder Jin Jue’s eyes blazed with battle intent. “By your will, Headmaster. This old man will forge them in the fires of the Dao.”
