Chapter 174: Sun Yi in a Berserk State (Second Update)
Zhou Wen’s pupils dilated as the rainbow greatsword descended. The pressure was suffocating.
“Shield!”
He poured his True Qi into a defensive barrier and threw out a mirror Spirit Weapon. The mirror expanded instantly, forming a shimmering wall of light.
CRACK!
The greatsword hit. The mirror screamed under the strain, spiderweb fractures spreading across its surface. It held for a fraction of a second before shattering into dust.
That fraction was enough. Zhou Wen twisted his body, avoiding bisection. The sword cleaved through his left shoulder, severing his arm cleanly.
“AHHH! My arm!” Zhou Wen howled, clutching the stump. “A Foundation Establishment ant dares to maim me?!”
“Come out, Snow Eagle!”
He slapped a beast pouch. A massive white avian shot into the sky, its wingspan blocking the sun. It was a Third-Order Snow Eagle, a Demon Beast known for blinding speed and claws that could shred steel.
SCREECH!
The eagle dove at Sun Yi, weaving through his flying swords with impossible agility.
“Die!” Zhou Wen screamed, his face twisted in hate.
The eagle’s talons, sharp as razors, aimed for Sun Yi’s skull.
“Headmaster!” the disciples below cried out.
Sun Yi didn’t flinch. He watched the descending blur calmly.
“Just a bird,” he muttered.
At the last possible second, Sun Yi’s hand shot up.
SNAP.
He caught the eagle’s ankle mid-dive. The kinetic force was immense, but Sun Yi stood like a mountain.
“Get down!”
Sun Yi pivoted, using the eagle’s own momentum against it. He slammed the massive beast into the ground like a wet towel.
BOOM!
A palace building collapsed under the impact, buried in rubble and dust.
Zhou Wen watched, jaw dropped. He… he manhandled a Third-Order beast? With one hand?
The dust swirled. The Snow Eagle shrieked, battered but alive, and tried to take flight again.
“Oh no you don’t.”
Sun Yi vanished.
Wind Thunder Step.
He reappeared above the rising bird and stomped down.
CRUNCH!
His foot drove the eagle back into the ruins. Sun Yi landed on its back and began to punch.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
It was a brutal, rhythmic beating. Sun Yi didn’t use Techniques; he used raw, terrifying strength. The eagle’s cries turned from rage to whimpers, then to silence.
Sun Yi stood up, dusting off his hands. Five swords circled him like loyal hounds. He looked like a god of war.
He turned his gaze to the one-armed Zhou Wen.
Zhou Wen trembled. “You… you are a Body Cultivator!”
Sun Yi didn’t answer. He blurred, closing the distance instantly.
Zhou Wen panicked. He summoned a bronze bell Spirit Weapon, trapping himself inside for protection. It was his strongest defense.
GONG!
Sun Yi punched the bell. The sound was deafening. Inside, Zhou Wen vomited blood from the vibration.
GONG! GONG! GONG!
Sun Yi unleashed a barrage of punches. The bell dented, cracked, and finally exploded into shards.
Zhou Wen fell out, defenseless. He looked up at Sun Yi with terror.
“You… you can’t kill me…”
“Why not?” Sun Yi asked coldly. “You treat mortals as ants to be crushed. To me, you are the ant.”
“Ancestor, save me!” Zhou Wen screamed.
“YOU DARE!” Zhou Yun roared from across the battlefield, trying to break free from Elder Jin Jue.
Sun Yi ignored them all.
SPLAT.
His fist connected with Zhou Wen’s skull. The Golden Core cultivator’s head vanished in a mist of red.
“Those who kill,” Sun Yi announced to the silent battlefield, “will be killed.”
The Qingyun Sect disciples roared in approval, their morale skyrocketing. Their Headmaster had just solo-killed a Golden Core expert!
“I will shred you!” Zhou Yun screamed, eyes bleeding with rage.
Sun Yi smirked and crooked a finger. “I’m waiting.”
“Pfft!” Zhou Yun spat blood, his Qi destabilizing from pure anger.
“Weak,” Sun Yi taunted.
He launched himself into the sky, heading for Elder Han Yun’s battle. Han Yun was holding his own against Zhou Hua and a massive Black Serpent, but he was gridlocked.
Sun Yi targeted the snake.
“Fire Spirit Sword!”
The sword ignited, wreathed in the purple flames of the Purple Extreme Berserk Flame.
SLASH!
The serpent spat a stream of frost to block it, but the purple fire ate through the ice instantly. The sword carved a deep, cauterized gash into the beast’s flank.
The serpent hissed in pain, its aura dimming.
Sun Yi didn’t stop. He flashed to the snake’s tail, grabbed it with both hands, and grinned.
“Your turn.”
He swung the Black Serpent and slammed it into the ground.
