Chapter 146: Strategic Acquisition and Corporate Roadmap
Sun Yi stepped forward, meeting the shell-shocked Patriarch’s eyes. “Patriarch, this data isn’t just to impress you. It’s to show you our leverage. The Sect currently holds a monopoly on a world-changing technology. This is our greatest asset, but it’s also a massive liability.”
“Until our defensive capabilities are upgraded, this intel is strictly classified,” Sun Yi continued, his voice dropping to a serious tone. “If those Nascent Soul titans outside realized we cracked the code for Low Grade Spirit Roots, built a Heavenly Soul Liquid synthesizer, and figured out how to install auxiliary Dantians… what do you think they would do? Hostile takeover. Immediate annihilation.”
“That’s why I initiated the quarantine. Elder Ye Luo is hiding the newly upgraded disciples off-site to prevent a system breach.”
“Furthermore, minimize their stay,” Sun Yi advised. “The less time those Nascent Soul cultivators spend on our servers, the fewer footprints they can track. Their current disdain for the Qingyun Sect is actually a perfect cloak.”
Patriarch Qingxuan inhaled sharply, forcing down the violent ripples in his Dao heart. “Agreed. We cannot allow them to linger. I must herd them out immediately.”
The news was too explosive. Even for a Nascent Soul titan, this was system-overload. He looked at Sun Yi not as a junior, but as a Peerless, Heaven-defying treasure.
“Excellent! Truly excellent!” Patriarch Qingxuan practically vibrated with euphoria. “To think you have forged such grand karma in my absence! The revival of our Qingyun Sect is at hand. Even the ancestors, knowing this from beyond the grave, would weep tears of joy!”
If dignity allowed, the Patriarch would have roared with laughter.
Sun Yi cut through the excitement. “Patriarch, I need the bios on the Nascent Soul contractors you brought today.”
Patriarch Qingxuan blinked, his smile fading into confusion. “Why do you ask?”
Elder Jin Jue and the others also leaned in, baffled by the sudden pivot.
“Our current hardware is too weak,” Sun Yi explained. “Organic growth is too slow. The fastest way to scale our power is a merger—we need to recruit external Nascent Soul assets.”
“But would these experts from the Heavenly Saint Commandery ever join our humble Sect?” Patriarch Qingxuan frowned deeply. “You saw their insolence. They treat us like dirt beneath their feet.”
Sun Yi smiled confidently. “Every asset has a leverage point. We just need to find their pain points. Recruiting Nascent Soul Seniors isn’t hard if you offer the right employee benefits.”
“For example, take an aging Nascent Soul cultivator with limited lifespan remaining. His primary concern is his legacy. We target his descendants.”
“We offer an ironclad contract: Join the Qingyun Sect, and we guarantee his descendants a 100% success rate on their breakthroughs. Furthermore, we guarantee their descendants’ strength will multiply several times over.”
“Of course,” Sun Yi cautioned, “we can’t just expose our backend to the first applicant. We need strict vetting. We investigate their background and confirm their familial attachments. Rogue Cultivators are ideal. Fallen nobles work too. No entanglements with major factions. As for the breakthrough guarantee, you can just tell them we found an ancient artifact. Plausible deniability.”
“Once they arrive, they must swear a binding Dao oath before we grant them network access.” Sun Yi concluded. “We need the Nascent Soul muscle to protect our assets, but security is paramount. We proceed with extreme caution.”
Patriarch Qingxuan and the Golden Core Elders instantly understood Sun Yi’s corporate strategy.
Patriarch Qingxuan stroked his beard, nodding in approval. “Brilliant. I will take this matter seriously. Among the Nascent Soul cultivators I invited this time, there are indeed two who fit your criteria. After we eradicate the Black Wind Stockade and Evil Spirit Valley, I shall invite them to the Sect for a private discussion.”
“Good.”
“Patriarch, here is the system log.” Sun Yi handed over a jade slip. “It contains a complete archive of the Sect’s recent developments. You can review the data directly.”
Direct data transfer was vastly more efficient than a verbal debrief.
Patriarch Qingxuan took the jade slip and scanned it with his Divine Sense. His eyes widened again. The “thunderbolts” Elder Jin Jue had dropped were just the tip of the iceberg. The forbidden Split Spirit Technique was being mass-adopted? The Fire Gate was generating automated manufacturing arrays?
It was utterly absurd. His centuries of Nascent Soul experience felt completely obsolete.
But shock quickly gave way to icy rage. A suffocating killing intent erupted from Patriarch Qingxuan. “Hmph. The Black Wind Stockade dared to siege our Qingyun Sect while I was away. I will leave not a single chicken or dog alive!”
“Patriarch,” Sun Yi interjected quickly. “When you raid the Black Wind Stockade and Evil Spirit Valley, we can forfeit the raw resources, but I want all of their manuals, archives, and technique records.”
“What do you want those evil cultivators’ records for?” Patriarch Qingxuan frowned in distaste.
“The cultivators deserve deletion, but their data is high-value,” Sun Yi explained. “Our Heavenly Soul Liquid synthesizer was actually reverse-engineered from Black Wind Stockade tech. To optimize the efficiency further, I need their complete database.”
“As long as we aren’t using the output for evil, who cares if the source code is dark?”
Patriarch Qingxuan considered the morality of this, then nodded. “Very well. I will secure the archives.”
He then tossed a Storage Ring to Sun Yi. “This contains the loot I gathered in the Heavenly Saint Commandery. Allocate it as you see fit. Unfortunately, I only managed to secure two body refining manuals, and they are both Low Grade. Barely usable.”
Sun Yi caught the ring. “Any body refining data is better than none. Now go, Patriarch. Don’t let the VIPs wait. Clear the server of these bugs in the Chaos Demon Commandery so we can focus on our roadmap.”
“I take my leave.”
Patriarch Qingxuan took a deep breath to mask his internal joy. He transformed into a streak of escaping light, blasting out of the central hall.
In the blink of an eye, he materialized on the deck of the 4th Rank flying boat. The Nascent Soul guests were scowling, clearly impatient.
“What could possibly take so long to discuss in such a pathetic Sect? You’ve wasted our time,” one Nascent Soul cultivator snorted coldly.
Patriarch Qingxuan didn’t react to the insolence. He merely smiled, cupping his hands. “My apologies for the delay. Let us depart.”
“Move out!” another expert barked, personally seizing the helm. The massive vessel surged forward, rocketing toward the Black Wind Stockade—their first target.
Standing at the bow, Patriarch Qingxuan looked at the distant sky, his eyes gleaming. The Qingyun Sect was evolving into something he could no longer comprehend. Its Potential was terrifyingly limitless.
