Chapter 79: Don’t Ask, I Just Crave Your Body (This Isn’t How I Imagined It)
“Young Master, if you have any orders, please speak directly. There is no need to be so polite to Yan Ji.”
Yan Ji spoke hurriedly, her voice tinged with unease. She had been feeling guilty lately; Gu Changge had saved her, housed her in a supreme treasure, and asked for nothing in return. She felt unworthy of such generosity.
“It’s not a big deal,” Gu Changge smiled. “But before we get to business, I will help you reshape your body.”
Only a few people knew of Yan Ji’s existence. As a Great Sage, her strength was invaluable. He needed a powerful, loyal agent to handle his more secretive affairs, and Yan Ji was the perfect candidate. He had already tested her character in the Lower Realm; she was trustworthy.
“Reshape… my body?”
Yan Ji’s ruby eyes trembled. A dazed expression crossed her face.
She had dreamed of this day for centuries. But waking up in the desolate Lower Realm had crushed that hope. She had resigned herself to slowly fading away, or perhaps, if Ye Chen ever became strong enough, guiding him to find the materials for her.
But Ye Chen was weak. And now…
Gu Changge offered it like it was nothing. Just a casual sentence.
The disparity between her past struggle and her current reality left her reeling.
If Ye Chen hadn’t driven her away… she would still be rotting in that ring, waiting for death in some forgotten corner of the world.
Why is Young Master Gu so good to me?
Yan Ji stared at him, her heart beating fast.
Once was kindness. Twice was generosity. But three times?
Gu Changge was the Young Lord of the Immortal Gu Family. His status was supreme. The palace they stood in was filled with Spiritual Qi so dense it formed a mist. Treasures littered the shelves. This was the peak of the Upper Realm.
What could he possibly want from a remnant soul like her?
Her strength? Her origin? The Gu Family had plenty of experts.
Her beauty? She was confident in her looks, but Gu Changge could have any woman in the Upper Realm with a snap of his fingers. Peerless celestial maidens would line up to warm his bed.
Was it purely out of the goodness of his heart? Impossible. Gu Changge was an ambitious hero; he didn’t do charity.
“Young Master’s kindness is too heavy,” Yan Ji said softly, shaking her head. “I cannot accept. I have no way to repay you.”
She had her pride.
Gu Changge wasn’t surprised. If she had accepted without question, that would have been suspicious.
“Why?” he asked, a playful glint in his eyes. “Reshaping your body has been your goal for centuries. Or is it because it came too easily? Does it lack a sense of achievement?”
Yan Ji froze. She wanted to glare at him. Too easy?
But he wasn’t wrong. What she had chased for a lifetime, he could grant with a word. Some people were born at the finish line while others died at the start.
“I… I just feel you might disdain me,” she admitted. “I stood against you once.”
“Don’t overthink it,” Gu Changge interrupted. “I have my reasons for helping you. Just accept it.”
Women. Once they were moved emotionally, logic went out the window. It was true in his past life, and it was true here.
He wanted her Luck Points. Keeping her around was like having a golden goose. Plus, he needed a high-level enforcer. The Gu Family wouldn’t assign a Great Sage to guard a junior; that would defeat the purpose of training.
“Then… what is your purpose, Young Master?” Yan Ji asked, curiosity winning out.
Gu Changge stepped closer, staring into her beautiful red eyes.
“Don’t ask,” he chuckled. “If you ask… it’s because I crave your body.”
Buzz!
Yan Ji’s mind went blank.
“Young Master… you are really annoying!” she stammered, her face turning crimson. “If you don’t want to say, just say so!”
What kind of answer was that?!
He craves my body?
Her heart hammered against her ribs. If anyone else had said that, she would have slapped them into paste. But Gu Changge…
He must be teasing me. How could he possibly be interested in me? It’s impossible!
…
Upper Realm, Outer Domain. Xiling Province.
Gu Xianer tailed the black-robed God King from a distance.
The small red bird on her shoulder had expanded into a massive beast, carrying her and her old servant through the clouds.
From Elder Ming’s aura, she knew he was the servant sent by her “dear” brother.
A God King servant, she thought bitterly. He really has been living the good life.
She had suffered in Peach Village, training until her bones broke, and she was only at the Holy Lord Realm. Gu Changge sat on a throne of gold, handing out orders to gods.
“I won’t give up,” she vowed, clenching her fists. “My foundation is solid. Sister Peach Demon said I am unparalleled. I will take everything back.”
She used a secret treasure to mask her presence. Elder Ming, arrogant in his power, didn’t notice her.
But why was he here?
To find her family?
To kill them all?
Gu Xianer’s teeth ground together. My good brother. After all these years, you still won’t let me go.
“As long as I am here,” she whispered, “no one will harm my clan!”
…
Elder Ming arrived at the majestic ancient city where the exiled Gu lineage resided.
It was a bustling metropolis, home to tens of millions of cultivators. The Gu surname ruled here as absolute overlords.
Elder Ming smiled. He didn’t come to conquer. He came to deliver a message.
Boom!
He released his God King pressure. It swept over the city like a tidal wave, terrifying but not destructive.
“By the order of the Young Master,” his voice boomed from the heavens, “I have come to find the clansmen of the Gu Family.”
Below, the city erupted in chaos.
A God King? Here?
Inside the central palace complex, several powerful old men looked up, their faces pale and grim.
“Gu Changge found us,” one hissed. “He sent a God King. Is he mocking us? Does he think one man is enough to wipe us out?”
Hatred burned in their eyes. They heard “Young Master” and immediately assumed the worst.
“Has the clan abandoned us completely?” another elder despaired. “Does no one care about the rules anymore?”
“Forget it,” the leader sighed, summoning his energy. “If he wants a fight, we will give him one. Today, we die with hon—”
“The Young Master has sent this old servant,” Elder Ming’s voice continued, echoing clearly, “to bring the Gu clansmen home.”
The spiritual energy in the palace dissipated instantly.
The elders froze. Their jaws dropped.
What?
Bring us… home?
It wasn’t a massacre? It was a recall?
They stood there, stunned, unable to process the words. This was… not how they imagined it.
