Chapter 76: I Know You Envy My Good Father (It Turns Out to Be a Void Talent)

The silence on the Main Peak was absolute.

You could hear a pin drop.

Everyone was stunned—including Gu Changge’s father, Gu Lintian. He had expected confidence, but this? This was madness.

This wasn’t just arrogance. It was contempt. It was looking down from the heavens and seeing nothing but ants.

Gu Changge’s expression remained light and breezy, perfectly matching his words. He was telling them, in no uncertain terms: I do not see you.

His plan was simple. The young geniuses of the Gu Family were afraid. They wouldn’t fight him one-on-one because they feared losing their qualification to compete for the Patriarch’s seat.

So, he gave them no choice. He insulted them collectively. He would beat them until they understood who the true leader was.

“Gu Changge! Don’t get too full of yourself!”

A tall, heroic young man stepped forward, his face flushed with anger. His body glowed with a golden luster, like immortal metal—a sign of a terrifying body-refining technique. In the outside world, he was a renowned prodigy.

“Isn’t it just because you have a good father?” he spat.

Gu Changge glanced at him. “Fourth Uncle’s son… Gu Chenxing, right? Dare to say that again?”

Gu Chenxing froze for a second, then exploded. As a direct descendant, what did he have to fear?

“Why wouldn’t I dare? Without the Patriarch protecting you, you’d have been exiled years ago for your crimes!”

Gu Changge laughed.

“I like that line,” he said, his smile widening. “I know you all envy me for having a good father.”

“But… can you blame me for reincarnating well?”

The crowd gaped.

Even the Elders were dumbfounded. They had seen shameless people before, but never someone who could package shamelessness so elegantly.

“Changge…” Gu Lintian coughed. While he enjoyed seeing his son dominate, this was making him look biased.

“Same words as before,” Gu Changge interrupted, addressing the crowd. “I want the position of Patriarch. I am not asking the Elders. I am telling you.”

“Now. Either you all come at me together and prove you aren’t waste, or from now on, when you see me, detour three miles.”

“How about it? If you’re scared, get lost.”

“The position of Gu Family Patriarch isn’t for trash to covet.”

His expression remained calm, like a breeze over a lake.

“Grandfather!”

“Let us fight! I can’t take this anymore! Gu Changge is bullying us too much!”

“Who’s afraid of him?!”

Even the female cousins, who usually admired Gu Changge’s looks, were trembling with rage. His indifference was the ultimate insult. If he had been angry, they could have handled it. But he treated them like air.

It made their livers ache with fury.

They were young, proud geniuses. They hadn’t fought yet; why should they admit defeat?

Many clansmen smiled bitterly. The Elders had tried to prevent this conflict to preserve the family’s strength, but Gu Changge had just lit a match in a powder keg.

The Elders’ expressions turned ugly. Gu Changge was slapping their faces publicly. He was implying they were cowards shielding their useless descendants.

“Changge’s methods are… extreme,” one Elder muttered. “Is this the Patriarch’s instruction?”

“Look at the Patriarch’s face. He’s shocked too. This is all Changge.”

“Well, a fight is unavoidable now. Perhaps it’s for the best. We can finally see what his innate talent actually is.”

For years, Gu Changge had hidden his true abilities behind the Dao Bone. The Elders suspected he had a Devil Heart, which was why they opposed him. This fight would force him to reveal his hand.

“Since Changge insists,” an Elder said grimly, “you may compete.”

“Changge,” another warned, “remember they are your kin. Do not be heavy-handed. If my grandson is crippled, I will take this to the Ancestors.”

“Rest assured, Elders,” Gu Changge smiled, though his eyes were cold. “I know my limits. It’s just… your obstruction has made things difficult for me.”

“So, I won’t bully you. Come at me together. I’ll suppress my cultivation to the Conferred Lord Realm. If that’s too hard, I’ll go down to Holy Lord Realm.”

The cousins nearly exploded.

Suppress to Holy Lord? And fight us all?

It was the ultimate provocation.

“You go too far! Gu Changge, I will teach you a lesson today!”

A young genius roared and charged. A dazzling divine ring manifested behind him—the son of the Sixth Uncle, a peak Holy Lord with a powerful secret technique.

Gu Changge didn’t move his hands from behind his back.

He simply kicked.

The void in front of him rippled like water.

Thump!

The charging genius’s knees buckled instantly. He collapsed face-first into the dirt, sliding to a halt like a dead dog.

“How…”

He was dazed. Gu Changge was fifty feet away. How did a kick connect?

Silence descended on the peak.

“That fluctuation…” an Elder whispered, eyes widening.

“Void Talent.”

“Space manipulation… So this is what he’s been hiding!”

Shockwaves rippled through the Elders. The Void Talent was a supreme ability, on par with Time. It was heaven-defying.

They had suspected a Devil Heart. But this? This shattered that suspicion. He didn’t need to hide a Devil Heart if he had Void powers; he was hiding a trump card!

“It seems Changge has other Fated Chances,” Gu Lintian smiled, relieved. His son had found a perfect cover for the Devil Heart.

Gu Changge looked down at the cousin groveling at his feet (from the impact).

“It’s just a spar, cousin. No need for such a grand salute,” Gu Changge mocked. “I won’t accept your apology anyway.”

He kicked again.

The cousin’s eyes bulged. He grunted and flew backward, landing unconscious in the dirt.

Not dead. But he wouldn’t be walking for a month.

The Elders’ veins throbbed. Only Gu Changge could be this vicious with a smile on his face.

“Come together,” Gu Changge yawned. “Don’t waste my time. I don’t want to beat you one by one.”

“I told you. You can’t snatch the Patriarch position from me.”

He looked at the remaining geniuses, his smile unchanged.

“Next.”
