Chapter 94: Simply Bullying You Too Much; So, What Are You Supposed to Be?
“Gu Changge, what are you doing here?”
Hearing his teasing remarks, Gu Xianer asked coldly. Her face was frosted over; she never had a good tone or a pleasant expression reserved for him.
In front of others, she was the picture of tranquility—a fairy untouched by mortal dust. But in front of Gu Changge, she couldn’t help but reveal her anger, her resentment, and her volatile emotions.
“You haven’t answered my question yet.”
Gu Changge chuckled lightly, completely ignoring the look in her eyes that suggested she wanted to swallow him whole.
Standing nearby, Chu Wuji felt a wave of discomfort wash over him. A suitor?
As the Crown Prince of the Great Chu Immortal Dynasty, did he need to pursue anyone? With a single word, countless proud daughters of heaven would throw themselves at his feet.
Although he knew Gu Changge was merely teasing Gu Xianer, the slight grated on him. His expression soured, especially since Gu Changge was treating him like he was invisible.
“Senior Brother Chu Wuji simply escorted me to the Road of Heavenly Dao. He is not my suitor,” Gu Xianer said, frowning. She couldn’t fathom what game Gu Changge was playing now.
Hearing this, Gu Changge adopted an expression of sudden realization.
“Is that so?” He sighed, shaking his head with exaggerated regret. “What a pity. Your brother wanted to vet him for you. We can’t just have any random cat or dog setting their sights on you, can we?”
Gu Xianer scoffed. She didn’t believe a word of his nonsense. Yet, she couldn’t shake the feeling that his words carried a double meaning.
Is he… standing up for me?
She immediately dismissed the thought. Impossible.
“Junior Sister Xianer is here to challenge the Road of Heavenly Dao by the Grand Elder’s command. Gu Changge, do you intend to obstruct her?”
Chu Wuji’s face darkened instantly upon hearing himself referred to as a “random cat or dog.” He stepped forward, his voice heavy, directly invoking the Grand Elder’s name to suppress Gu Changge.
No matter how much they disliked each other in the past, Gu Changge had never been this flagrant with his insults in public.
“The Grand Elder?” Gu Changge glanced at him, his expression one of bored indifference. “Do you really think he would lower himself to intervene in the squabbles of the younger generation?”
He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly as they finally focused on Chu Wuji.
“Furthermore, I am speaking to my sister. Disregarding that… what are you supposed to be?”
What are you supposed to be?
The insult struck like a physical slap. Chu Wuji’s face turned the color of pig liver, flushing from green to purple. The rage in his chest was no longer containable.
Provoked. Humiliated. Ignored.
Even with his excellent upbringing and deep scheming, he had reached his limit. To be treated this way in broad daylight, under the gaze of thousands? If he swallowed this insult, how could he ever hold his head high in the Upper Realm again? He might as well throw away his face entirely.
They were both Young Supremes. By what right did Gu Changge dare to humiliate him so casually?
“Gu Changge, don’t you think you’re bullying people too much?” Chu Wuji’s voice was low, his expression gloomy enough to wring water from.
“So what if I bully you?” Gu Changge replied, his tone as light as a feather, yet crushing in its arrogance.
He had wanted to deal with Chu Wuji for a long time; he had simply lacked a convenient excuse. He didn’t believe that a proud Son of Heaven like Chu Wuji could endure such a public dressing-down.
“You…”
Chu Wuji’s face was hideous, his fury erupting like a volcano.
No matter how steady or calculating he usually was, rationality snapped.
The surrounding disciples went into an uproar. They hadn’t even seen Gu Xianer step onto the Road of Heavenly Dao yet, but they were already witnessing a clash between two titans.
Excitement buzzed through the crowd. A battle between True Disciples!
No one had expected Gu Changge to be so domineering, treating a fellow True Disciple like air. But then again, Gu Changge was strong. Terrifyingly so.
However, to become a True Disciple, one had to be a monster in their own right. Who among them was weak?
Even the Elders hiding in the void watched with bated breath. Competition among peers was normal, but an open declaration of war like this was rare.
Two other True Disciples, Tian Yang and Zhong Tianyuan, appeared on a nearby peak. Shrouded in divine light, they watched the scene with grave expressions.
“Chu Wuji’s strength is unfathomable. In a duel, neither of us might be his match… but Gu Changge seems even more confident.”
“Chu Wuji has little chance of winning, but if he retreats now, his Dao Heart will be shattered.”
“Defeat is temporary; one can break and rebuild. But if his Dao Heart cracks from fear, his path to the peak is finished.”
As Young Supremes, they had to believe in their own invincibility. To retreat without a fight was to admit inferiority.
There would be no peace today.
“I want to see just what gives you the right to humiliate me!”
Chu Wuji roared, his aura exploding. He attacked.
The surrounding crowd gasped and scrambled backward to avoid the shockwaves.
Only Yin Mei, watching from a distance, shook her head inwardly. He is courting death.
She knew Gu Changge’s horror far better than anyone here. Even his surface-level strength was not something an ordinary Young Supreme could withstand.
Gu Xianer also fixed her gaze on the scene. She needed to know: just how strong was the current Gu Changge?
“Imperial Dragon Palm! That’s the signature Precious Technique of the Great Chu Immortal Dynasty!” someone exclaimed, recognizing the move.
BOOM!
Chu Wuji thrust his palm forward. Runes interwoven into the shape of a roaring dragon surged toward Gu Changge. It felt like a massive red-gold millstone, crushing forward with the intent to obliterate all enemies in the world.
The aura was domineering, filled with extreme Yang energy. Even from a distance, disciples felt their skin prickling, as if their bodies were about to crack apart.
“Terrifying… is this the power of a Young Supreme?”
“An ordinary Void God Realm cultivator wouldn’t stand a chance against True Disciple Chu! And remember, he’s only at the peak of the Conferred Lord Realm!”
“The gap between us and them is like heaven and earth.”
Disciples were left trembling by the sheer pressure of the attack. Previously, Gu Changge had killed a Void God servant, but Chu Wuji’s strike clearly possessed Void God-level lethality as well. For a genius of his caliber, fighting across cultivation realms was as natural as breathing.
“Is this the source of your confidence? Who gave it to you?”
Facing the incoming dragon-shaped destruction, Gu Changge’s expression didn’t ripple.
He raised his hand and pressed down casually.
Golden light condensed, forming a massive, radiant seal. Divine splendor cascaded from it like a waterfall.
BANG!
The golden seal smashed into the dragon palm.
The collision was instantaneous and catastrophic. The red-gold millstone shattered!
It was like a meteorite impact. Nearby mountains trembled, the earth cracked, and ripples of chaotic laws distorted the air.
Pfft!
Blood sprayed into the air.
Chu Wuji was sent flying backward, his hair disheveled, his body covered in blood. The backlash alone had injured him!
He stabilized himself, his face filled with shock and disbelief.
“Mid-Stage… Conferred King Realm?”
Among Young Supremes, victories were usually hard-won battles of attrition. But this? This was total suppression by a superior cultivation realm.
Years ago, Gu Changge had caused a sensation by defeating Jin Zhou while being a minor realm lower. But no one expected him to have already broken through to the Mid-Stage Conferred King Realm.
The onlookers gasped, sucking in cold air.
Gu Changge was too strong. A casual strike held this much power? It was despair-inducing.
“As expected of someone with the capital of a True Immortal! With that kind of cultivation gap, True Disciple Chu doesn’t stand a chance…”
“I can’t believe he’s already at the Conferred King Mid-Stage…”
Tian Yang and Zhong Tianyuan exchanged horrified glances.
“How is he so strong…” Gu Xianer murmured, her expression grave. Even with her rapid progress, catching up to this Gu Changge felt like chasing a phantom.
“So what if you are in the Mid-Stage of the Conferred King Realm?!”
Chu Wuji suddenly roared. His body erupted with blinding golden light, and layers of dragon scales began to cover his skin.
Dragon Transformation Talent.
This was his trump card, a bloodline ability that drastically increased his physical strength and cultivation base for a short period. He had never revealed this to anyone before.
But today, he didn’t care. He had only one thought: defeat Gu Changge and wash away this humiliation.
ROAR—!
A domineering, ancient dragon chant echoed through the heavens.
A True Dragon, shrouded in immortal mist and breathing clouds, manifested between heaven and earth. Its scales gleamed like pure gold, its body vast and endless.
The dragon claw swiped down at Gu Changge.
The world seemed to overturn. Chaos churned, and the sun lost its color. It was a strike containing the power of annihilation.
The spectators were once again stunned, lamenting the endless methods of a Young Supreme.
“So what if I am in the Mid-Stage?”
Gu Changge smiled, a cold, mocking curve of his lips.
“It is enough to shatter your Dao Heart.”
Behind him, boundless light erupted. A vague, majestic Great Dao Dharma Body manifested, towering over the world as if it embodied the ultimate principles of the universe.
“Great Dao Dharma Body?”
Gu Xianer’s face went pale. She felt a sickeningly familiar aura.
She recognized it. That was the innate divine ability contained within the Dao Bone he had stolen from her.
BOOM!
Gu Changge thrust his palm forward. Behind him, the colossal Dharma Body mirrored the motion.
A vast, boundless fluctuation rolled out, heavy enough to collapse the ages. It was the weight of the Great Dao itself.
One Palm Subduing the Dragon.
It looked as if stars were exploding in the palm of his hand.
Rumble!
The shockwave was like a tsunami. Mountains shook violently, triggering landslides. Disciples fell to their knees, their souls trembling in resonance with the overwhelming power.
The golden light of the dragon met the palm—and was extinguished.
As Gu Changge’s palm pressed down, the True Dragon form collapsed. Chu Wuji coughed mouthfuls of blood, his body cracking inch by inch under the unbearable pressure.
The palm continued its descent.
SPLAT!
Chu Wuji sprayed a mist of blood. His dragon transformation shattered completely, and half of his body exploded into gore.
He lay in the dirt, his eyes wide with horror and disbelief. He had used his strongest trump card, yet he was still nothing before Gu Changge.
“So, tell me…”
Gu Changge retracted his palm and descended from the sky, his white robes unstained by dust.
He landed beside the broken prince. His expression was as calm as the wind.
Then, he lifted his foot and stepped directly onto Chu Wuji’s head, grinding it into the ground.
“What are you supposed to be?”
