Chapter 51: Ye Chen’s Cousin Requests an Audience; Let Them In
Ye Liuli had absolute confidence in Aunt Xue.
She knew the old servant protecting the Upper Realm youth was likely suppressed to the Void God Realm by the laws of this world. Aunt Xue, however, was a true powerhouse in the Upper Realm, possessing strength far surpassing that level. She wouldn’t have been sent to protect a noble daughter if she were weak.
Even the ancestors of the Immemorial Sacred Mountains treated Aunt Xue with breathless reverence.
“Miss, rest assured,” Aunt Xue nodded obediently. Since it was the Young Miss’s request, she would comply.
The opponent might have a significant background to descend to the Lower Realm, but she wasn’t worried. Faced with an Ancient Immortal Clan from the Upper Realm, any background would have to bow.
They left the divine court and headed straight for the Lin Family estate.
The appearance of creatures from the Immemorial Sacred Mountains, radiating murderous intent, caused an instant sensation in Chongyue Ancient City.
Cultivators flocked to the scene, sensing that a major event was unfolding. Many suspected it involved the mysterious Young Lord.
…
Inside the Lin Family Estate.
The atmosphere within the magnificent palace was serene.
Gu Changge reclined on a chair, leisurely sipping tea while Su Qingge peeled spirit fruits and fed them to him. He teased her occasionally, earning playful eye rolls in return.
Life was good.
Over the past few days, Lin Qiuhan’s terrifying alchemy talent had finally bloomed. Without a teacher, relying solely on the Primary Alchemy Guide from the System, she was already refining pills that veteran alchemists needed decades to master.
It proved that hard work was useless in the face of true genius.
Her talent solidified Gu Changge’s decision to cultivate her. A few words of praise were enough to keep her happy for days.
With his tacit approval, the Lin Family Patriarch had stopped hindering her interest in alchemy and instead mobilized the clan’s resources to support her. They knew their future prosperity depended on her relationship with Gu Changge.
BOOM!
Suddenly, a massive tremor shook the estate.
The runes on the main gate flared violently as a terrifying aura crashed against the wards.
The Lin Family was shocked.
“What is happening?!”
“Who dares intrude on the Immemorial Lin Family?! Are you courting death?!”
Furious shouts erupted from the guards.
Since the annihilation of the Jialou Holy Land, the Lin Family’s prestige had skyrocketed. Cultivators usually walked past their gates with bowed heads. To have someone openly release their aura in provocation was unprecedented.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Several Lin Family Elders flew into the sky, their eyes glowing with golden light. They released their Great Power Realm auras to intimidate the intruders.
“Heh. A mere Lin Family… seeing the envoys of the Immemorial Sacred Mountains, why do you not kneel?”
Outside the gate, a tall young creature with scales on his forehead sneered, his voice amplifying across the street.
The onlookers gasped, their blood running cold.
Immemorial Sacred Mountains!
Even their junior disciples possessed the strength of the Great Power Realm. The rumors were true; their power was unfathomable.
The Lin Elders’ expressions changed instantly. If there was one force in the Central State they feared, it was the Sacred Mountains. They bordered the Upper Realm and were said to house deities.
“May I ask why the esteemed envoys have come to my Lin Family?”
The Lin Family Patriarch appeared, his face grim. Normally, he would be terrified. But with the Ancestor and Gu Changge present, he felt a measure of confidence.
He guessed their target immediately.
“Tell that brat from the Upper Realm to come out,” a winged creature sneered, looking down his nose at the Patriarch. “Our Young Miss wants to see him.”
As expected.
“If you wish to see Young Master Gu, please wait,” the Patriarch frowned. “I must ask for his permission first.”
Even if they were from the Sacred Mountains, they couldn’t just demand an audience. Asking Gu Changge to come out to greet them? That was an insult.
“You want us to wait?” The winged creature scoffed, his disdain palpable. “Do you know who our Young Miss is? She could wipe out your tiny Lin Family with a single sentence!”
The crowd gasped. Annihilate the Lin Family with a sentence?
The arrogance was suffocating.
“Que Tian, shut up!”
Ye Liuli frowned. She was here to avenge her brother, not to waste time bullying the locals.
“Announce me,” she said coldly. “Tell him that Ye Chen’s cousin requests an audience.”
Ye Chen’s cousin?!
The revelation hit the crowd like a thunderclap. Ye Chen, the plague god who destroyed the Jialou Holy Land, had a backer from the Sacred Mountains?
And a terrifying one at that.
The Lin Family Patriarch took a deep breath, his face grave. “I… I will report this immediately.”
He turned to leave, sensing a catastrophe brewing.
But before he could take three steps…
RUMBLE!
A terrifying sound erupted from the void, like a colossal millstone grinding the heavens.
Hum!
Golden runes flashed into existence, coalescing into a massive, radiant palm that descended from the sky with the weight of a collapsing universe.
It was too fast. No one could react.
SPLAT!
The palm slammed down on the winged creature, Que Tian.
“Miss! Save m—!”
His scream was cut short as he exploded into a mist of blood. Body and soul were annihilated in an instant.
Silence fell over the street.
From the depths of the palace, a young man’s voice drifted out, casual and indifferent.
“Let them in.”
