Chapter 120: Junior Sister Hua Who Came to Fulfill the Agreement
The fragmented bone of a shapeshifting flood dragon hummed with an almost overwhelming residual power. Even a mere splinter of its skeleton radiated a terrifying pressure, a testament to the primal strength of such a beast.
“A pity,” Li Meng murmured, flicking his sleeve to sweep the bone and the red-gold fragment back into his storage. “I cannot utilize these just yet.”
He rose and made his way to the pavilion’s artifact refining room. With a heavy click, the doors sealed shut behind him. Sitting atop a meditation cushion, Li Meng flicked his sleeve again, sending five golden talismans flying into the floor’s mirror-like surface.
A Five Elements formation flared to life, and five Formation Flags soared from his Sword Nurturing Gourd to settle into the corresponding cores. Instantly, the room was bathed in the roar of Five Elements Separating Fire. Li Meng sat at the center, radiating a dense, five-colored spiritual light as the formation began to steadily draw from his Mana.
Five days of meticulous refining followed. On the final morning, a violent surge of spiritual power erupted from the pavilion, triggering a localized Spiritual Tide. The five refined flags flew out through the window, expanding to several times their original size as they streaked toward the spirit herb garden.
The flags plunged into the earth, anchoring the corners of the garden. Spiritual power outlined a complex web across the soil, creating a Spirit Gathering Array within the peak’s existing array. The concentration of heaven and earth energy became so dense that a fine drizzle began to fall—not water, but liquid spiritual mist.
Li Meng stepped out of the pavilion, bathing in the bright, cloudless sunshine. He stroked his beard, looking at the shimmering garden with satisfaction. “Now, no one will wonder why the air on Moon Gaze Peak is so unnaturally thick with Qi.”
“Senior Brother! Senior Brother!”
A light, ethereal voice drifted from the sky. A graceful figure in a cyan rainbow dress descended like a falling petal. The woman’s figure was voluptuous and soft, her jet-black hair spilling over her shoulders, held in place by an elegant hairpin. It was Junior Sister Hua Biying.
“Junior Sister Hua,” Li Meng greeted with a beaming smile as she landed. “What brings you to my peak today?”
A touch of shyness flickered in her eyes as she sat by the tea table. Li Meng flicked his sleeve, arranging the tea set and personally pouring a cup for her. Biying took a small sip, her cheeks flushing a delicate pink.
Li Meng watched her in silence, his smile knowing. With an Affection level of 95, her thoughts were practically an open book. “Are you preparing for seclusion to attempt your Foundation Establishment breakthrough?”
Biying’s breath hitched. She looked up, her shyness deepening. “Yes… I enter seclusion in a few days. I wanted to see you before I went.”
Li Meng flicked his sleeve, sending a command token into the sky. Outside, the Cloud Mist Array surged, sealing the peak in a thick, impenetrable veil. Biying watched the mist descend, her face turning a deep crimson. She knew what this meant, and her purpose today was indeed to honor an old promise.
Li Meng glanced at the system’s Treasure Pavilion. Because of his Five Spirit Roots, standard Dual Cultivation was impossible. However, Biying had accumulated decades of Pure Yin Qi. If he didn’t want it to go to waste, he needed a medium.
The Mystic Yin Pill, he realized. It was a third-grade pill that required Pure Yin Qi to refine. Normally, only a man who had never “leaked” his Yang energy could consume it without risking his spirit roots, but Li Meng’s unique physique acted as a self-sustaining cycle of all five elements. His Yin and Yang balanced each other endlessly.
He sat beside her, wrapping a firm arm around her waist. Biying trembled, her body leaning into his as she gave him a playful, coquettish glare.
“There is no rush, Junior Sister,” Li Meng said softly, lifting her chin with his finger. “Maintaining your Pure Yin state is beneficial for the breakthrough. Once you reach Foundation Establishment, we shall truly discuss the Dao together.”
Biying gazed into his eyes. She had come today because her promise to him sat like a knot in her heart. If she didn’t fulfill it, her thoughts would not be clear—and a clouded mind invited failure during a breakthrough.
“My thoughts are clear now,” she whispered, a daring smile touching her lips. She closed her eyes and activated her Charm Technique, her body radiating a seductive, fox-like aura that was impossible to ignore.
Li Meng did not refuse the invitation. He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. She tasted like honey and spring rain.
…
Half an hour later, Biying leaned lazily against Li Meng’s chest. Her gaze was dazed, her breathing shallow and rhythmic. A stray thought crossed her mind—she was technically involved with Senior Brother Qian, so why did she feel such elation in another man’s arms?
Behind her, Li Meng’s embrace was a source of immense warmth and safety. She realized then that she and Qian were drifting apart, their bond thinning as her heart turned elsewhere.
Li Meng turned her voluptuous body around to face him. “What occupies your mind?”
Biying reached up to stroke his cheek, her voice a soft murmur. “Senior Brother… Senior Brother Qian and I… we are only Dual Cultivation partners. Nothing more.”
Li Meng chuckled, giving her nose a playful pinch. “I know, Junior Sister. I know.”
