Chapter 269: Junior Brother! Senior Sister Is Willing to Be Your Sword Servant
Li Meng cupped his hands in return.
“Senior Sister, please!”
“Junior Brother, please!”
The two parted ways.
Listening to the fading footsteps behind him, Li Meng’s expression grew dazed. Jiang Ping reminded him of someone from many years ago—a junior sister he had known when he first entered the sect.
Like Jiang Ping, that girl had possessed average talent but a worldly, coquettish charm that made her popular. She thrived in the Outer Sect, her cultivation advancing rapidly through relationships. She had even nearly taken Li Meng’s pure yang body, an event she mocked him for over the next decade.
Eventually, she found a Dao Companion and drifted away. Years later, Li Meng met her partner with another woman and learned the truth: she had died on a mission long ago, her Dao extinguished in silence.
Decades had passed, but her face remained etched in his memory.

“Junior Brother!”
A voice called out from behind.
Li Meng stopped and turned. Jiang Ping stood ten zhang away, her eyes bright and sharp with resolve.
She flushed, then bowed deeply.
“If Junior Brother does not disdain me… this Senior Sister is willing to become your Sword Servant. Consider it… repayment for the debt!”
Sword Servant?
Li Meng was surprised. A Sword Servant was barely a step above a slave. Their life and death were entirely in their master’s hands. Usually, only combat-averse Alchemists or Refiners took them on, as raising one was a resource drain.
He looked her up and down. Her features were common, easily forgotten in a crowd, but her figure was undeniably voluptuous.
“Using a lifetime to repay a debt,” Li Meng said slowly. “Isn’t Senior Sister at a disadvantage?”
Jiang Ping looked up, meeting his gaze.
“If I can become Junior Brother’s Sword Servant, the one at a disadvantage probably won’t be me.”
She was gambling. She sensed his potential and his kindness. If she could attach herself to him, she would have a pillar of support in the sect—a far better fate than being passed around like a common resource.
Li Meng studied her. Human nature was to seek advantage and avoid harm. She didn’t want him for his looks; she wanted his Alchemy talent.
“If I return from the Kongming Hall,” he said finally, waving his hand as he walked away, “come find me then.”
Jiang Ping’s heart leaped. A fox-like, seductive aura flared around her.
“Master will definitely return!” she called out, her voice dripping with charm. “This concubine will wait for Master!”
Li Meng narrowed his eyes.
Concubine. She had already abandoned her identity as ‘Senior Sister.’ If he accepted her, she would be erased from the sect rolls and belong solely to him.
Should I accept?
She had ties to Su Meng, which meant ties to the Broken Cliff Peak lineage. She could be a spy. But the system showed her genuine affection increase.
Forget it. We’ll see if I survive first.
Moon Gaze Peak did need someone to tend the garden.
Upper Pavilion, Wen Huanhuan’s Room
Click.
Li Meng pushed the door open and entered, closing it behind him.
“Senior, we have arrived at Sleeping Dragon Island. Would you like to accompany your Junior Nephew to the Market City?”
He lifted the partition curtain and walked into the inner chamber.
It was empty.
No sign of Wen Huanhuan by the window or the tea table. The bed was made and cold.
“Did Senior Wen and Senior Han go ahead without me?” he muttered, feeling a pang of disappointment.
He turned and walked back to the door.
Click.
He pulled it open.
Standing right there, hand raised to knock, was Wen Huanhuan.
