Chapter 184: Drinking with You Until Drunk
“Did Senior truly think this Junior would simply urge you to drink?”
Wen Huanhuan glanced at Junior Li. Lifting the wine pot, she tipped her head back and gulped down several more large mouthfuls.
“This Junior won’t just urge you to drink; this Junior will drink with you!” Li Meng declared, raising his own cup and downing the spirit wine in one smooth motion.
“Senior, how can such fine wine be enjoyed alone? Come, share a few cups with this Junior!”
Li Meng produced another exquisite wine cup from his spatial ring. With casual audacity, he reached over and snatched the wine pot right out of Senior Wen’s hand.
Wen Huanhuan glared at him, her eyes flashing with a predatory, monstrous glint.
She looked as if she wished she could bite Li Meng to death on the spot.
Completely indifferent to her killing intent, Li Meng wore a genial smile as he poured a fresh cup for her.
Looking utterly sullen, Wen Huanhuan snatched the cup and downed it in a single gulp.
This brat was simply too shameless and thick-skinned.
She was a Golden Core cultivator! Could he not show even a modicum of fear in her presence?
Even if he wasn’t afraid of her cultivation base, shouldn’t the brat fear being beaten to death by her Senior Brother?
She was her Senior Brother’s Dao Companion, after all.
“Come, Senior, this Junior toasts to you!”
Li Meng raised his cup again, draining it in a single shot.
Wen Huanhuan let out a cold, cynical laugh. She matched his pace, downing her own cup.
This was high-grade spirit wine. She wanted to see just how many cups a mere Foundation Establishment cultivator could handle before collapsing.
“Haha! This wine has a sharp bite, yet the aftertaste is sweet and mellow. Another cup!”
After several more rounds, Li Meng felt the world begin to spin.
A heavy flush crept up his neck and colored his cheeks.
He shook his head, trying to clear the fog, but his gaze only grew more fervent as it landed on the woman beside him.
“Hehe, Senior Wen… you are truly beautiful.”
Facing Junior Li, who seemed to have successfully drunk himself silly, the corner of Wen Huanhuan’s mouth twitched upward into a faint smile.
Just a few cups of wine and he was already completely wasted.
What a useless brat!
“Senior, you smell so intoxicating…”
Li Meng suddenly leaned forward, boldly wrapping his arms around Senior Wen’s slender waist. He buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply, completely intoxicated by the scent of her hair.
“What do you think you are doing?”
Wen Huanhuan’s gaze turned frigid. She stared coldly at the audacious Junior.
A lecherous, thoroughly glib smile spread across Li Meng’s face.
“Senior, don’t be so stingy. Just let this Junior hug you. This Junior missed you so much!”
Li Meng tightened his grip, pulling her warm body flush against his chest.
Was he actually drunk?
Wen Huanhuan stared speechlessly at Junior Li, who was acting thoroughly drunk and disorderly.
Had a few cups of wine really reduced him to this state?
Before she could push him away, Li Meng leaned in and planted a loud, wet kiss directly on her cheek.
Wen Huanhuan’s facial muscles spasmed.
Her patience had officially reached its absolute limit.
“Enough! You old thing, you are courting death!”
Wen Huanhuan furiously flicked her sleeve. A violent surge of Qi erupted from her form.
Li Meng was instantly launched through the air like a ragdoll.
With a loud plop, he crashed into the center of the lake outside the pavilion.
A massive column of water erupted into the night air.
Splash!
The water rained back down, leaving the lake’s surface rippling violently.
“Hmph. Serves you right!”
Having vented her frustration, Wen Huanhuan narrowed her eyes, picked up her refilled wine cup, and drank it in one go.
That old thing was far too unrestrained and presumptuous.
If she didn’t teach him a harsh lesson, he would really start to think she was an easy target to bully.
A moment passed. Wen Huanhuan glanced toward the lake.
The ripples were fading. Why wasn’t there any movement?
Ten breaths passed. Still nothing.
Wen Huanhuan’s delicate brows furrowed slightly.
Her form blurred, transforming into a streak of escaping light that shot out of the pavilion and over the lake.
Plop!
Without hesitation, she plunged into the dark waters, stirring up another massive column of water.
A few breaths later, a loud splash echoed through the night.
A streak of light burst from the depths of the lake, soaring toward the nearby multi-story pavilion.
The light shot straight through an upper-floor window.
Inside a bedroom on the upper floor of the pavilion.
Wen Huanhuan sat on the edge of the bed, her expression a whirlwind of complex emotions as she looked down at Junior Li.
He lay sprawled on the mattress, snoring loudly.
He was truly dead drunk.
A trace of hesitation flickered in Wen Huanhuan’s eyes.
She slowly reached her hand out toward his face, only to pull it back.
She repeated this internal struggle several times.
Finally, surrendering to the urge, Wen Huanhuan’s fingers lightly brushed against Junior Li’s cheek.
Feeling the warm, familiar texture of his skin under her fingertips, a deep sense of confusion clouded her eyes.
“You stupid brat… aren’t you afraid of being beaten to death?”
Her voice was thick with melancholy.
Suddenly, the snoring stopped. Li Meng’s eyes snapped open.
Seeing that Junior Li had awakened, Wen Huanhuan’s slender, jade-like hand trembled violently.
Like a startled kitten, she tried to snatch her hand back.
She was fast, but Li Meng was faster. His hand shot out, capturing her wrist.
Before she could channel her Golden Core Qi, Li Meng exerted a sudden, calculated force.
He pulled Senior Wen down onto the bed, smoothly rolling over to pin her beneath his heavier frame.
With a casual flick of his sleeve, a gust of wind swept across the room.
The heavy bed curtains dropped, sealing them in an intimate, dimly lit world.
Trapped beneath him, Wen Huanhuan met Junior Li’s fervent, burning gaze. Her face was an unreadable mask.
“Do not court death,” she warned.
Her clear, cold voice entered Li Meng’s ears, echoing softly within the confines of the bed curtains.
Ignoring the threat, Li Meng reached down, his thumb gently caressing the line of her jaw.
He lowered his head, capturing her soft red lips in a dominant kiss.
Wen Huanhuan’s pupils contracted sharply. Her breath hitched, and her hands clenched tightly into fists at her sides.
Li Meng’s hand moved down, capturing her wrist again.
He slowly, deliberately pried open her clenched fist. He slid his fingers through hers, interlacing them tightly with her slender, jade-like digits until their palms were pressed flush together.
The bed curtains swayed gently.
But only a little.
Time lost its meaning. Outside, the full moon climbed to its zenith in the dark sky.
The night deepened over Cloud Soaring Peak.
Inside the bedroom on the upper floor of the peak’s pavilion, a silhouette sat up behind the bed curtains.
A moment later, a pair of strong arms pulled the figure back down into the sheets.
“Senior, let me hold you a little while longer.”
On the bed, Li Meng warmly embraced Senior Wen’s soft, flushed body.
Both of their robes were thoroughly disheveled, hanging loosely from their shoulders.
Wen Huanhuan leaned dazedly against Junior Li’s bare chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.
Why was she so utterly passive whenever she was with him?
She was clearly furious with him, yet she could never sustain that anger.
No matter how furious she became, the moment Junior Li shamelessly coaxed her, the rage in her heart melted away like snow in spring.
When did she become this kind of weak, despicable woman?
Wen Huanhuan felt completely bewildered.
Li Meng gently wrapped one arm around her waist, pulling her closer.
“Senior, this Junior is preparing to enter Secluded Cultivation to train hard,” he murmured softly. “I must prepare for the Inner Sect Competition three years from now.”
Wen Huanhuan shifted slightly. She tilted her head up, gazing at Junior Li’s devilishly handsome face in the dim light.
“You are going to the Kongming Hall?”
Li Meng chuckled, reaching up to gently stroke her messy hair.
For once, Wen Huanhuan chose to completely ignore his overstepping behavior.
“This Junior possesses the Five Spirit Roots waste physique.” “It requires a truly massive amount of cultivation resources to force any improvement. Senior should understand that even if the Sect provided me with resources matching a top-tier prodigy, it would still be a drop in the bucket for my body. If this Junior wants to obtain the vast quantities of spirit plants needed, I can only rely on myself.”
Wen Huanhuan remained silent.
The Five Spirit Roots waste physique was cursed to have almost no affinity for Cultivation.
To forcibly cultivate with such a body required an unimaginable, astronomical amount of resources.
“In the future, this Junior won’t be able to visit Senior often,” Li Meng whispered, his breath tickling her ear. “Senior, please don’t be angry with me.”
Wen Huanhuan shot him a sideways glance.
She lowered her head, nestling her cheek back against his chest.
Brat, who said I wanted you to visit me anyway? It’s best if you don’t come at all. It will leave me in peace and quiet. “Just focus on your cultivation,” she said coldly, though her body remained pressed against his. “You are a waste in cultivation, so do not waste your limited time on women. But remember: if you forget our agreement, I will personally beat you to death before my Sitting Death and Dao Dissipation!”
Li Meng chuckled.
His hand, which had been resting on her waist, began to slide downward restlessly.
Slap! Senior Wen slapped Li Meng’s wandering hand.
“Do you want me to beat you to death right now?” she hissed.
Li Meng gave an embarrassed smile and withdrew his hand.
“Don’t worry,” he soothed. “This Junior would die before forgetting his agreement with Senior.”
Wen Huanhuan rolled her eyes at him.
This brat only knew how to be glib. She wondered how many of his ten sentences were actually true.
Afterward, the two of them lingered affectionately under the warm covers for a while longer.
It wasn’t until 2 hours later that Li Meng was finally chased out of the room by Senior Wen.
