Chapter 15: The Lunar Body

Li Meng swept a glance over the young attendant.

[Qi Wei] [Age: 19] [Luck: 800] [Cultivation: Qi Condensation Fifth Layer] [Constitution: Lunar Body] [Affection: 0]

“The Lunar Body?”

A flicker of surprise passed through Li Meng’s eyes.

What kind of constitution is this? Could her inability to grow be related to this physique?

Li Meng turned and walked toward the lounge area. He took a seat beside the tea table.

“Why would an attendant with such a special constitution appear on the second floor of the Thousand Treasure Pavilion?”

He stole a glance at the Pavilion Guardian not far away. That single look sent a tremor through Li Meng’s mind.

The system actually couldn’t display any information about him.

“A Nascent Soul cultivator?”

Li Meng kept his head lowered, observing the Guardian from the corner of his eye. An extremely peculiar aura emanated from him. He had likely used an art to alter his appearance. He also exuded a Yin, effeminate air that was unlike any man.

“Could he possibly be the legendary Yin-Yang Old Fiend from the Joyous Union Sect?!”

Li Meng’s hand holding the teacup trembled slightly.

Impossible. Why would a Supreme Elder appear in a place like the Thousand Treasure Pavilion? Even if he were here to relax, he should have gone to one of the higher floors.

“Senior Brother, Senior Brother! Your spirit plants are ready!”

The fair-skinned, adorable-looking young attendant came trotting over toward Li Meng.

The Pavilion Guardian seated at a nearby tea table moved a finger ever so slightly.

“Ah!”

The attendant tripped over something unseen. Her small body stumbled forward and tumbled right into Li Meng’s lap.

Li Meng hurriedly caught her.

“Junior Sister, are you alright?” Li Meng’s voice was slightly hoarse.

The attendant was like a startled little rabbit. She quickly scrambled to her feet, pulling herself out of his embrace. “I… I’m fine, Senior Brother. Are you alright?”

Li Meng chuckled and set down his teacup. “I’m perfectly fine, no harm done!”

“Really fine?” The attendant looked at him with a suspicious expression.

Li Meng spread his hands open and gave a casual wave of his sleeve. “Does Junior Sister see me looking like someone who’s hurt?”

The attendant’s eyes curved into crescents like moons. She held out a storage pouch with both hands. “Senior Brother, here you are. That will be 17,000 spirit stones.”

The corner of Li Meng’s mouth twitched. He knew 500-year-old spirit plants were expensive, but he hadn’t expected them to be this expensive. If he used those 17,000 spirit stones to buy plants around a hundred years old instead, he could refine thousands of pills at least.

He took the storage pouch and tucked it into another pouch at his waist. Then he retrieved yet another pouch and handed it to the attendant.

She accepted it with a beaming smile.

“Junior Sister, I take my leave.” Li Meng stood up and headed for the stairs down.

“Senior Brother, may I ask you one question?” The attendant watched his retreating back with an expectant look.

Li Meng turned to face his Junior Sister and chuckled. “Ask away, Junior Sister!”

“Senior Brother… how did you know I was your Junior Sister?” The attendant gazed curiously at her white-haired Senior Brother, who was nearing his Lifespan Limit. Her disguise had been personally applied by her master. How could a mere Qi Condensation cultivator like her Senior Brother have discovered she was a girl?

“Uh… this… just a feeling.”

“A feeling?” The attendant lowered her head in thought. What did her Senior Brother mean by that?

Li Meng chuckled again and turned to leave. It wasn’t until his figure vanished down the stairwell that the attendant snapped out of her reverie.

She turned and walked over to the Pavilion Guardian.

“Master, Senior Brother is about to face his Sitting Death! Playing tricks like that could kill him!” The attendant glared at the Guardian, pouting angrily. That stumble earlier had definitely been her master’s doing.

The Guardian smiled faintly and set down his teacup. “Did he look like someone in trouble? He seemed full of life.”

The attendant sat down opposite him at the tea table. “You’re right, Master… Why was he fine?”

Qi Wei knew exactly how potent her constitution was. An ordinary Foundation Establishment male cultivator would have most of his Yang energy drained just by touching her briefly. But that man seemed to have no Yang energy at all. Yet that was impossible. Any man would possess Yang energy.

A slight curve appeared at the corner of the Guardian’s lips. “How interesting…”

The attendant shot a glance at her master before slumping unhappily onto the tabletop, resting her head on her arms. “Master, Senior Brother is about to die. Please don’t bother him anymore.”

The Guardian extended a slender hand and flicked her forehead from across the table with a wisp of energy.

“Ow!” The attendant covered her forehead, putting on a pitiful expression.

“He isn’t dead yet, is he?”

Leaving the Thousand Treasure Pavilion, Li Meng was in a foul mood. He had finally earned a huge sum of spirit stones, but before they could even grow warm in his possession, more than half were already spent.

High above the jagged mountain peaks, Li Meng flew on his sword. He weaved through banks of clouds one moment and skimmed past mountain summits the next. Soaring freely between Heaven and Earth felt incredibly liberating.

Before nightfall, Li Meng returned to Little Bamboo Peak. His aged body descended from the sky and landed in his courtyard.

“I’ll start my closed-door cultivation tomorrow!”

This time he had bought quite a few spirit plants along with second-grade beast hides and blood. It would take several days to process all these materials into pills and talismans.

Forging artifacts? He’d better forget about that; it took far too long. To forge even one magical instrument required refining and fusing various materials—a process that alone could take over half a month. Crafting a single artifact would require months, if not half a year. Li Meng didn’t have that kind of time to squander right now.

At present, breaking through to Foundation Establishment was paramount. He could delve into artifact forging and formation arrays after achieving Foundation Establishment.

Li Meng pushed open the door and entered his bedroom. Settling onto the bed, he crossed his legs and entered a meditative state for cultivation.

Time slipped away silently.

Outside the window, the sky gradually darkened until it was pitch black. At some point unnoticed, a full moon had risen high in the sky.

Vast Little Bamboo Peak lay quiet and still.

Occasionally, streaks of colored light flashed across the night sky—not meteors, but Golden Core Grandmasters flying on their escape lights.

The path to immortality is paved with bleached bones.

That saying was no idle boast.
